| RE: Removing Broken Light Bulbs |
|
I haven't done this in a while, but here is a way to do it. First disconnect the power to your light, i.e. fuse, breaker etc. That is very important! Do not attempt to do anything before doing this. Take a peeled potato and jam it up into the socket. The potato grabs the piece of light bulb left in there and you should be able to turn it all the way out. Clean the socket well before turning the electricity on again and insert a new light bulb. ... View related article. |

| RE: Choosing a Sewing Machine |
It depends on what you want to do and how experienced you are.
Bernina is one of the most expensive and has the best embroidery capabilities etc.
Write down what you want to do with the machine, what you want to make. Then check out each website.
Go to www.threads.com...they have comparison charts on their website for each of the machines.
Be knowledgeable before you go to buy one. If you can get in to a shop after a show you can usually get a demonstrator for less and some will have extras as well. Hope that helps. It is the best way to go.
I purchased both a new sewing machine and a serger at the same time, knew which brand of machine I wanted and went to three shops getting quotes and having them write them down for me. When I went to the third and last shop I managed to save $800 with lots of extras thrown in. ... View related article. |

| RE: Coffee Stains on Coffee Pot |
|
Is this a pot or a coffee maker? If it is a coffee maker try vinegar and water mix, or a peroxide and water mixture. Both will work. If it is an open metal perk type pot or coffee holder then you can use a little bleach with water, but don't use bleach in a coffee maker. Either rinse with water after or put the coffee maker through its paces with water only before using it again. ... View related article. |

Vingegar and water. Does yoor iron have a steam putton? If it does place an old light coloured towel on the ironing board. Once the vinegar and water has heated up in the iron place the soleplate on the towel and hold it about an inch above the towel. Push the steam button and watch how much stuff comes out of the steam holes. Keep doing this until no more "gunk" comes out ahd the steam is clean. Once done, refill with water only and repeat once or twice to clear out the vinegar mixture. ... View related article. |

| RE: Replacing a Watch Battery |
|
It was probably on clearance because of the battery. Walmart has batteries for watches and usually can replace them for you as well. Try them and see how much a battery is, if it's too much return the watch. On the other hand $15 for a watch in the first place is not a big price. If your looking for a good watch prepare to pay at least $35 and if you want it fancy the price will go up with each feature. ... View related article. |

| RE: Storing Ice Cream Tips |
|
About a month in a deep freeze, two weeks in a fridge freezer. It's not as cold....ice crystals will form after that time. If I have ice cream left I will put it in a smaller container so there is not the air inside the box that helps to form the crystals. If it is homemade ice cream, then a few days is all you have to keep it, so use it up quickly. ... View related article. |

| RE: Recipes for Someone With Heart Disease |
|
My hubby had an attack in 2003 and hasn't had one since: his diet consists of small amounts of nuts (walnuts and almonds); vegetarian meals (chili with barley, black beans and lentils along with some TVP...texturized soy protein. It is very good), whole wheat pastas with low fat cottage cheese and low fat cheeses (in reduced amounts). He's even allowed eggs now. A great web site to check out is the www.realage.com It's Dr Oz's site and is exceptional with advice on eating, exercise, having fun and how to do it all. Both Canada and the States have their sites for a healthy heart as well. Good luck. Forget the salt, sugar, transfats, saturated fats, white foods as rice, noodles, bread. Make sure your plate is a rainbow with a red, yellow/orange and green vegetable, a little bit of low fat meat. ... View related article. |
