Is it too late to plant pumpkins in southern Ohio? I love to decorate with them but buying as many as I would like to use gets pricey. Can you recommend about how many plants (and maybe what type) I would need for 15 or 20 pumpkins of different shapes and sizes? May plant a few gourds, too if its not too late.
My Kenmore is over 30 years old and I have no idea what model it is, but it used to jam all the time and it was in the bobbin housing. Can't tell you how many times I've had to take that thing apart in the middle of a project. It seems to be very sensitive until you get the bobbin adjusted to the type of fabric and thread you're using. I eventually learned to practice on a scrap piece of the fabric first. This may or may not be the problem you're describing, but hope it helps. ... View related article.
So, how big was the whole in your screen? Ours was about 3 inches in each direction. Is that big enough for a raccoon? I havent seen any raccoons around, although I'm sure there must be some. We watch the squirrels play and sun themselves along the top of the wooden fence where we found the bread after the incident. I'm not sure if happened after dark or not. Gads! It was light outside when we left and dark when we returned. I'm shocked that animals will do this. (Did I mention we moved here because its a very secure neighborhood? Our last home was burglarized by someone coming in through a window screen during the night!) Glad I dont live out in the boonies! Gotta admit, I'd feel much better knowing it was a squirrel instead of a raccoon! ... View related article.
Thanks jojo, did you use a duvet cover? I also considered using a double sized quilt and putting elastic around the edges so it would fit like a fitted sheet, for easier removal. The futon is at my daughters, so I dont have easy access to experiment. ... View related article.
Depending on your decorating style, you have a bunch of options here. Farmhouse, retro, etc. If you like the checked pattern, I've seen solid yellow and yellow and while speckled tiles used in a blk/wht kitchen that looked great. They were the old (cheap) tiles that are still available. If your kitchen is small, you might try laying the tiles on the diagonal. It looks great and makes the space look bigger. Until I bought a house with the blk/wht checked floor, I didnt realize how many wall paper borders have the checked pattern on the edges of them, too. Either way, if you stick with something thats sort of neutral, you'll have lots of decorating options in the furture. We recently bought another older home, but the previous owner "renovated" the kitchen and installed honey colored cabinets and a counter that is a sort of marbled pattern of all shades of brown. From nearly blk, tan, and even some terra cotta in it. I've had a terrible time with it as I love reds, yellow, blue, green, and golds. I have temporarily settled for black and tan plaid and checked homespun fabric for windows and seat pads for the chairs, and found similar checked throw rugs. The walls are off-white with white trim. I was still able to use my red silk geraniums and black eyed susans above the cabinets and a few roosters here and there. Good luck with your choices! ... View related article.
