RE: Travelling from Saint Petersburg to Key West
The post before mine should help more than I can, because the only experience I had in that area was a family reunion in St. Petersburg. It was wonderful, and afterwards three of us rented a car and drove straight down "Alligator Alley" to Key West. It was really fun. If you do decide to rent a car, be aware that during the summer, it is REALLY hot but of course we had air conditioning, otherwise we would have completely fried! Also, there are some very strange people and places along Alligator Alley... and at night, there are some weird areas in these strange towns that could prove dangerous to the naive traveler, so beware of venturing off into the night. Before you take off, make sure you have plenty of fuel, water and food to eat along the way! I would take the motor trip again in a heartbeat. It really gave you a taste of the far south U.S. and once we got there everyone in Key West was incredibly friendly. We made lots of friends, there was a lot of partying going on and we actually had so much fun we paid the extra airline fee in order to stay a few extra days. ... View related article.

RE: Food For Small Wedding Reception
Everybody has their own ideas about what makes for a good celebration. In my family, we like to drink! I don't think there's anything wrong with that. My hubby and I limit ourselves to one drink per night, and we have been doing that for nearly forty years. We love to give parties, and there is always plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. Of course everyone knows alcoholics should refrain from drinking and there should be festive, non-alcoholic drinks for them. I did go to a wedding where they had a pay bar, and I think NO bar at a wedding is better than a PAY bar at a wedding. Prosit! ... View related article.

RE: Food For Small Wedding Reception
Regarding whether or not to serve alcoholic beverages are your wedding reception: It is simply a matter of what kind of a reception you want to have. Do you want a reception reminiscent of a gathering in a church basement, or do you want a party? ... View related article.

RE: Food For Small Wedding Reception
First of all ask yourself a couple of questions. (1) What is our favorite food? (2) How much money do we have to spend on our guests? Then plan accordingly. From the weddings I've been to lately (including my own and those of family members), the most important thing is having wine and beer available, and if your budget allows, even a full bar. And have the drinks available as soon as the guests arrive. Then people start partying and having fun. And no one is worried too much about whether you're serving filet mignon or trays of simple appetizers. DO NOT ask your guests to buy their own drinks. That's just too tacky for words. ... RE: It's Cool In the UK
I will never go to the UK again. Next time I have money for a vacation it's the tropics for me... I went to England in 1997 and I froze. I felt like a spoiled American. The people were great but... No one turned their heat on. Did heat even exist in these old pubs I stayed in? I couldn't get warm for five weeks straight. Even still, it was more fun staying in the pubs than in the Marriot. ... RE: Removing Permanent Marker from Table Cloth
I found a solution to getting dark blue permanent marker off my new rug. (I opened the pen and out came a bunch of gooey ink, right onto the new rug.) The stain was huge, about three inches either way and deep into the rug. It took awhile, but I poured rubbing alcohol on it, and then applied a terrycloth rag and applied pressure. I did that about a hundred times. Even when the stain seemed to be gone, more ink came up on the terrycloth rag. Note - you need SEVERAL terrycloth rags. I had cut up 3 or 4 old towels for this purpose. But it honestly worked. Rubbing alcohol is amazing for ink stains. Hopefully it will work for your tablecloth too. Since the tablecloth isn't as thick as a carpet, it shouldn't take as long but I bet you will see good results. For a tablecloth, I would put the terrycloth rag under the stain, pour on rubbing alcohol, and then put another rag on top and apply pressure. Do not rub. The pressure should bring the stain up into the rag. One caveat - that mark on your tablecloth may have been there a long time. My solution works best when it is a new stain. Good luck! ... RE: How can I clean a cat?
There are some "cat cleaning wipes" that you can buy at pet stores. However I tried it on my new cat who never has had an actual bath, and she balked at it bigtime. She hated it. But for some cats that might work. ... View related article.
