RE: Sunless Tanning Products Causing Itching
I recently started 'spray tanning' at Planet Tan (Versa Spa) and for the first few times I didn't notice a problem, the tan looked great and I was happy. However, after about the 3rd or 4th time I did the Versa Spa, my arms, legs and back started itching like crazy! I was itching so hard that I was bruising myself and bringing blood to the surface of my skin. It scared me to death, as I had no idea why I was itching so badly until I contacted a friend of mine who is a registered nurse and he said that if you're allergic to a food or substance most of the time you won't notice anything until after you've been exposed to the allergen a few times.

This explains why nothing happened at first, but after a few times of going to the spray tanning booth, I was itching intensely and miserable. Eventually, it could lead to a more serious allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock), so I've learned my lesson: NO MORE VERSA SPA! Too bad, b/c I'm pretty pasty. Any suggestions on how to get a good looking tan with out suffering from intense itching? ... View related article.
