| RE: Looking for "No Sew" Hemming Adhesive |

Thanks everyone! I do believe Stitch Witchery is it. We live in a small town with no craft shops or major stores other than Walmart. Thanks to your responses, I found it online with no problem and without traveling to find it! ... View related article. |

| RE: Collecting Child Support |
Virginia, lah34a is correct. The Social Security Survivors Benefits are for the surviving children from their deceased father and are not considered her income. However, if she receives a check also as a surviving spouse, that IS her income and could be considered in collecting child support. Leah ... View related article. |

| RE: Guitar and Music Theme Party |
|
Don't know if you shop online, but there are some really cool mylar inflatable balloons out there. There are some of the regular round ones, but also 3-4 foot long guitar shaped ones. Ebay has them or some of the party supply websites do as well. Just do a search on "guitar balloons" or "inflatable guitar". The really neat thing about them is that they stay inflated for a long time (at least 2 yrs). You can also deflate them (if need be) then blow up again with a straw inserted in the small opening. Good luck & have fun! ... View related article. |

| RE: Paint Color Ideas for Pink and Brown Bedding |

Yes, I also vote for a cream, tan, khaki, etc. - a light, neutral color. As others mentioned, it would set off the bedding colors yet work easily with any future changes. Good luck & have fun! ... View related article. |

| RE: Painting Vinyl Wall Panels |
Polly,
I was in the very same situation last year. I finally decided to try one room first by just painting the entire wall, including the strips. It worked out just fine & didn't look bad at all. I did proceed by painting 5 other rooms the same way. I'm glad I did because I don't think I was up to all the extra effort the removal of the strips, filling, sanding, etc. would have required. Good luck in your project whatever you decide to do!

| RE: Will My Child Receive SSI? |
|
She would not receive SSI as that is based on need but would require HER to be disabled (as well as meeting the $2000 limit in assets/resources). If the father receives SS benefits based on Retirement or Disability, she would receive benefits as the child of a retired/disabled parent. If the father only receives SSI (but not retirement or disability), she would not be eligible for benefits. The difference between SSI & SSD is that SSD is based on whether or not you worked & paid in, whereas SSI is not. The amount a child receives from the disabled parent's claim is determined by how much the parent draws. If there is more than one child, the child amount is split between the children. Once you contact SSA & provide proof of relationship (daughter), they will let you know what she qualifies for. Hope this helps. ... View related article. |

| RE: Splitting Bills with Spouse |
|
The one big thing that really bothers me in your post is that you are considered SOLELY responsible for the bills because you are the man? I agree with many of the other posts. The expenses belong to both of you. Does she not have to pay her living expenses out on her own? Regardless who is the man or woman, makes more or less, etc., I feel you both should contribute in some way toward the necessities. This includes what others have mentioned about duties as well as the finances. It takes 2 to make a couple regardless how responsibilities are divided up. I also agree with Crystal in that it's okay to have yours, mine, & ours. The "ours" goes toward the joint living expenses while the "yours" & "mine" can be used accordingly (such as Crystal's shoes & her husband's fast food). :D Good luck! ... View related article. |

| RE: Paying Back Taxes |
Bria,
Don't hold me to this, but you may not owe anything or very little. It sounds like you were a minor (under 18) at the time. I think some things that may be factors in determining any taxes owed are your age at the time and whether or not your parents claimed you as a dependent on their return, etc. Also, if you didn't make more than the personal exemption amount set for those years (i.e. $9,600 for 2008), you may not owe anything. I agree that you do need to clear this up because it will haunt you until you do. If you did owe, the longer it goes on, the more penalties will cost. You can also go online to www.irs.gov for free tax help. Good luck!

| RE: Replacing Canopy on a Lawn Swing |
My only question is ... Where were you about 4 months ago?! :) I just had to giggle when I read this post as I'd asked for ideas for a solution to this very problem back in early June. I received many great responses but this one was different as well! Thanks so much for sharing your idea ... might try it next time instead! ~Leah ... View related article. |

| RE: Remedies For Cow Licks |
Smoochie,
I agree with those that say you can't overcome it; however, I have a funny little tip that might help TAME it somewhat. My husband (who's 52 & has a double crown) remembers his grandmother's trick when he was "just a little fellow". He said she first combed his hair down the best she could, dampened the trouble spot with water, took a nylon hose (like pantyhose) & pulled it down over his head, then tied the excess hose in a knot on top. She made him sleep in it overnight. :) He said it really did help "train" his hair to lay down in place better by doing this for a couple of nights. I DO have fun teasing him about being traumatized as a little boy with his granny's nylon hose. :) Hey, whatever works, huh? Good luck with your cow lick!
