RE: Too Many Toys?
I put toys in two big plastic tubs and mark a date three months from now on duct tape on the top. When these toys come out three months later, the kids play with em like they are new again! When these toys come out, others are put in their place in the tubs and then they disappear into the garage for three months. This system really works. I also only buy toys that have been reviewed by other parents on http://www.ParentsBestToys.com. I let someone else test drive all the toys and only buy those that I am sure will have long lasting play value. No more junky toys!! ... View related article.

RE: Don't pay too much for hot toys
A site I really like is http://www.ParentsBestToys.com
The site doesn't sell toys - it only lists toys that are reviewed and rated by parents for parents. If you are going to spend money on a toy, make sure it is of good quality and that others before you have 'test driven' it. It seemed the toys I bought my kids ended up dusty on a closet shelf. I have been using this site as a reference and I am surprised what a difference it has made! Home run toy picks just about every time in my house.

For the poster looking for recommendations for a one year old, you didn't mention a boy or a girl. This is what I came up with on this page: http://www.ParentsBestToys.com/Toys_For_Ages_0-2_Page_5.html = A cute drum in the shape of a lollipop that is 50% off regular retail:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0 ... code=wql&camp=212361&creative=380601 or a plastic ball that squishes flat and is easy for little ones to catch and throw (you could buy two balls at this price): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0 ... code=wql&camp=212361&creative=380601

I hope this helps!
