RE: Stretch Liquid Fabric Softener
I dilute my softner 1 part to 3 parts water and put in a spray bottle, then spray in the dryer instead of using dryer sheets or full strengh softner. It keeps down the static and doesn't overwhelm my clothes with the fragrance. For towels, I run 2 rinse cycles with white vinegar in the first. I only spray a little in the dryer when I do towels and it doesn't affect the drying ability of the towels like dryer sheets or full strengh softner but knocks the static that builds up during the drying cycle. ... RE: Rerouting Downspout Water
If I were handy, I would make rain barrels for your down spouts. They are great for watering lawns and gardens. Instructions are available online. You would save on your water bill. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Ground Beef Recipes
When I was growing up, we didn't have large freezer bags so we froze our hamburger in a lump wrapped in foil. When we would forget to thaw it out for dinner that night, we would have a boiled dinner. Bring a large pot of seasoned water to a boil. Drop in the frozen hamburger and then some potatoes, onions, and carrots. Bring back to a boil and turn down to a slow boil. When the lump of hamburger looks like the outside is cooked, poke it with a large meat fork occasionally being careful not to break up the lump.

When the veggies are tender and the juices run clear when the hamburger is pierced, the hamburger is done.
Gently remove the hamburger and veggies. Add more water if needed, bring back to a boil and drop a box of spaghetti into the pot. Cook until tender. The hamburger will slice like a meatloaf. I like to add a little Worcestershire sauce or steak sauce to my slice of meat.

We also made chili veggie soup with hamburger. Brown the hamburger and make the soup like normal. Add a chili roll and very small head of chopped cabbage. Very comforting on a cold, winter evening. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Remedies for Restless Leg Syndrome
I use the over the counter herb, valerian, and put a bar of soap under the covers at my feet. It sounds crazy but the bar of soap really works wonders for me. I just use the valerian to help me sleep after I learned of the soap trick. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Snow Ball Cake
My grandmother used to make this. It's wonderful for the summer because it's so light and cool tasting. I've made it as a special treat for family and friends and have always received rave reviews. It's nice to see the recipe again. I've gone the lazy route and switched to Jello and Cool Whip. It doesn't taste the same but not bad either. ... View related article.

RE: Jobs with Better Income
You might look into nursing. Nurses are always in demand and the baby-boomer generation is aging quickly. In my area, a few nursing homes offer CNA classes free if you work for them for a certain period of time. A lot of health care facilities offer tuition reimbursement or will pay retention bonuses and you can use that to further your education. I work for a suburban nursing home in the midwest and our CNAs start out at $10 per hour and the registered nurses make about twice that. I know that if I had a medical aptitude, I'd become a nurse. Good luck in your search. ... View related article.

RE: Choosing the Best VoIP
We use Vonage. I like the features it offers. If the internet goes down, it will automatically forward calls to my cell phone. You can have your voicemails sent to your email and listen from the computer. I wasn't really impressed when we got Vonage because of the background noise and different little glitches but our service has really cleaned up. We've been thinking of getting Magic Jack but the reviews on that haven't been very good. I'm hoping that they will work the bugs out of it soon. At $20 a year vs almost $30 a month, I'm thinking that I could put up with a few glitches. Good luck in your decision. ... View related article.

RE: Men's Swimwear with Suspenders
Thank you all for your responses and suggestions. I've done some searching and found some things that have over the shoulder straps that he may be able to use for water therapy. They are called unitards. Who knew! They must be the wrestling uniforms the guest poster suggested. Thanks again for all the suggestions. ... View related article.
