RE: Cleaning an Old Mirror
My father used to have an antique shop and we also did furniture refinishing. It sounds like the mirror needs to be resilvered. If it is in a frame and that is the part you want to save, you can have the mirror part replaced. If the mirror itself is bevelled or etched and you want to save it, then take it to a professional and they can usually restore it to its original look. ... View related article.

RE: Raising a Deaf Dog
We rescued a puppy that is almost completely blind and deaf. She is solid white with blue eyes and appears to be part Shetland Sheepdog. We have had her for almost 2 years now and have found that she has learned the "rules" from our other dogs. (We have 8 others.) She spends most of her time outside with a lot of her "siblings" and knows the fenced backyard and deck quite well. She comes inside to eat, and has learned to bark to go back outside after eating to go and do her business in the yard. We tried hand signals at first, but with her vision being so limited, they were not very successful. Her sense of smell is over developed to compensate, and she knows where we are and comes to be loved on whenever we go outback or she comes in. We love her very much, and the other dogs seem to know that she is special, because they look out for her as well. I am posting a picture of our Daisey May with this response. Good luck with your new friend! ... View related article.

RE: Invest In Your Health
Are there websites you can recommend to help make the switch? I've been trying to do this for my family also, but find the cost of healthy organic foods in my area to be prohibitive for my budget. My husband says if we can buy 9 frozen burritos for the same price as a bunch of broccoli ($2.99) that we should buy the burritos because that is three meals for him instead of just one side dish. How do I find cheaper healthy alternatives? ... View related article.

RE: Soil Advice for Avocado Plants
I used to grow avacado seeds and had the same problem. Does anybody have a site link that tells how to start the seed in water and then transplant it from there? I can't even remember for sure how I used to start them, but I would like to try again. ... View related article.
