RE: Motivating Myself To Clean and Organize
When I have to clean the spare bedroom or the basement, I just watch a few shows of, "Clean Sweep" and that seems to get me motivated. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Tough Grease Stains
Another thing that works goods is to put a paper towel behind the stain and spray with WD40. Let it sit for aprox. 5 min.; then rub in dish washing detergent and wash in as hot of water as the fabric will take.

It has worked every time for me. ... View related article.

RE: Real Vanilla - How can you buy it inexpensively?
Actually, you can make your own. I've never tried it, so don't know what it's like:

Cut one vanilla bean into several pieces. Place in glass jar with 1/3 tsp. sugar and 3 oz. vodka. Place lid on tightly and let vanilla bean steep for one month. Shake every day.

I did have another recipe for this - when your vanilla was half gone you just added more vodka to the jar and could use the vanilla bean again. I know vanilla beans are expensive, but I'm sure it would be cheaper than pure vanilla. ... View related article.

RE: Bathroom Night Light

RE: Hamburger Jerky Recipe
I don't have a recipe to make beef jerky with hamburger from scratch, but we buy a mix (it's in a box usually by the meat counter - can't recall the name). You just mix it with hambuger, flatten it out, cut in strips and dry in a dehydrator (can use oven). When it's done you really don't know the difference from regular beef jerky. I prefer it. ... RE: Make Them Buckle Up
Of course, the safety of the occupants is foremost, but here in Saskatchewan we have had the seatbelt law since the early 1980's. It's automatic now to buckle up when you first get in the car. Besides, the fine is over $100 for you and anyone else in the car that isn't buckled up! The driver is charged and is responsible for making sure everyone is buckled up. ... View related article.

RE: Stop! Don't Pass Up That Yard Sale!
I love garage sales! The season here is only from April to the end of October. We have bought just about anything you can think of . My parents used to joke when someone asked them where they got a certain item that they bought it on the 'world market'! But you can literally buy expensive items that people have bought from different parts of the world, plus clothes, books, tools, ornaments, antiques, etc, etc.

I made up a list of some of the items I can remember buying just this year alone and we have hundreds of dollars (close to $1000) worth of items for just a few dollars here and there.

Remember, though, when you buy you sometimes come home with something you don't really like and items can accumulate until you have no room for anything. So, you, too, should have a garage or yard sale every so often. Not only will you have gotten rid of things you didn't want or didn't have room for, you also have more money to spend at other garage sales! ... View related article.
