DAWN dish detergent, but it has to be the BLUE kind of DAWN will kill the fleas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bathe the dog, rinse completely and bathe and rinse her again and ...no more fleas! Is she an inside dog? If so, you will have to use a flea bomb to kill them and their eggs in the house! Keep us posted! ... View related article.
He should throw that one out and get a new one!! I've heard that if you put your dish cloth in the micro for like 30 seconds it will kill all of the germs and bacteria on it. Anyhow, if he doesn't want to spend the money, just tell him to go to the local dollar store where he can get 5 for like $2.50!!! ... View related article.
Good old reliable DUCT TAPE!! I don't have a lint brush, and when that happened here, after shaking the clothes off as I took them out of the washer, dried them, then I got a piece of duct tape, and it came right off. Scotch tape will work also, but won't hold as much lint, paper, etc. ... View related article.
I love going to the grocery store, just wish someone else would want to pay for it!! Isn't it getting outrageous?? I, like you, go to surplus stores, Dollar General, Save-A-Lot, and the local flea market and farmer's market. Used to be able to rough figure how much you would spend before you left the house, but not anymore. Do you use coupon's at all? Our grocery store here, once in a while, will triple the mfg. coupons. We also have sometimes, a special in the meat dep't. where you get a big brown bag, and all of the meat that you put in it will be like 10-20% off at the register. I generally buy a lot for like 2 weeks in a row, then I'm pretty well set for about the next month, with the exception of milk, bread, etc. There are 4 of us here (soon to be 5) and just my husband works, but his work (factory) is very unsteady. I work private-duty caregiver just 2 days a week, 4 hrs. each day. Then my son and his girlfriend live with us and they are expecting in October. Good Luck! ... View related article.
How about measuring the area and then taking a piece of 1/2" plywood to place down when it's in the bed position? The plywood can easily be lifted out. ... View related article.
SIMPLE GREEN should clean the canvas with no problem even if there is a lot of mildew on it...something else I've discovered that cleans mildew is DOW SCRUBBING BUBBLES BATHROOM CLEANER believe it or not!! My son bought a 1969 Chevy station wagon that literally had sat in a field for about 20 yrs. and I'm talking major mildew here!! I did the entire inside of the car with the scrubbing bubbles and it looks like new! If the company knew how well it works for that, they would probably charge much more for the product! We bought an old Scotty camper many years ago and the awning was horrible looking and smelly with so much mildew..used simple green and looked like new. As far as repairing the canvas, I notice that you live in Ohio...are there any Amish people near you that you could ask about sewing it?? We had a Starcraft pop-up many, many years ago and it was torn around the screen windows on each end where the beds pulled out and they were able to sew it; did not charge a lot either. Good luck with it, and happy camping! ... View related article.
I'm so sorry about your fur-baby! # years ago, I had to put my wonderful Black Lab. to sleep that we have for 14 years. I cried and cried like a baby and missed him so much. He had a favorite spot to lay in the livingroom on a braided rug and I took a ceramic black lab that I had painted, which looked just like him, and set it on that rug for about a month. My husband and kid's told me I was nuts!! In due time, I set it up off the floor but I know Brusier will always live on in my heart and no other dog can take his place. 2 yrs. after that my husband and daughter took me to a no kill shelter for mother's day and I didn't want to even get out of the car. Told them I don't want another dog, none can take his place. My DH ended up picking out a dog, we brought her home, and I love her, but she's not Bru. Then just 2 yrs. ago, I decided to get her a playmate..that is my little Pebbles, whom I call Debbie for some dumb reason. She is wonderful, and in a round about way, reminds me of Bru so much as she is part black lab. Just remember how wonderful and special he was and know that he is waiting for you at the rainbow bridge with his tail wagging! God bless you and comfort you! ... View related article.
I discovered Prestone Windshield Frost and Ice Remover at Walmart this past winter, and it is amazing stuff. It comes in a spray bottle and costs about $4.00 a bottle. Living in PA, we get a lot of frost also (I lived in MI many years ago!) and when you park your car for the night, spray this on the windshield (I do side front windown also), come out in the morning, start your car, turn on the wipers....and frost and ice is gone! Good stuff! ... View related article.
What a beautiful dog! Dumb question here...where do you get the dog's from that you rescue? Other states, or there if Florida? Guess I'm just a hillbilly (LOL), I always thought wolve's were only out west! Around here where I live, we have an occasional coyote, not too often though. Are they tempermental? My brother, many years ago, had a dog that was part timber wolf and part german shepher and had to obtain a permit to keep her as she was part wolf. ... View related article.
To Stngray.... ACD is short for AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG!! Amazing dogs! :o) When she and my 4 yr. old dog get to playing, Pebbles (ACD/Blk. Lab) will try to herd her into a corner and nips at her feet as if she were a cow! She will also try to get human feet if you don't have socks and shoes on! ... View related article.
