RE: Ideas for Bland Stir-Fry
Yes, lots of fresh or chopped garlic in a bottle, a little sherry (and not the cooking kind, either!) can do a peanut sauce with peanutbutter, ginger, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and a little orange marmalade (optional), or a little orange juice. I also slice the superfirm tofu horizonally into 3 slices and I salt with seasoned salt and some garlic powder. I then wrap it in a few paper towels and a clean towel and put it in the fridge to drain and season for about 30 min to an hour. I like a firm texture. Can put it on a plate and another plate on top with something a little heavy if in a hurry. Hope this helps! Shalom! ... View related article.

RE: Neutralizing Acid in Soup
Try a pinch of baking soda, though not too much. Will make it bitter. Tastes good in addition to a little sugar.

RE: Problems Getting Pregnant
First pray...it works...then get a really good reproductive endocrinologist. Do you know why you're not getting pregnant? Treat the symptoms. If you are overweight lose weight. Someone mentioned PCOS. That's a common reason. Age could be another consideration.
My sister in law tried for 10 years. My husband and I prayed with her, she was with child 4 mos later. Pray the novena to St. Gerard. Make a pilgrimage to Franciscan University of Steubenville. Have a priest there pray for you.
God Bless,

RE: Heart Healthy Meals
Experiment with herbs. They give a lot of flavor without the calories. Limit solid fat and of course, salt. Also use flavored vinegars and Balsamic vinegar. Us a lot of vegetables and salads to fill up on and decrease meat. Also use dijon mustard and small amounts of honey and juices to flavor...oh and don't forget lemon and orange zest...get a good zester and you will add lots of flavor to stir fry, and other foods.
A lot of it is habit too, what u get used to.
Good Luck

RE: Southern Sweet Tea Recipe
Rather than using straight sugar which doesn't dissolve well once the tea is made, either use superfine sugar (bar sugar, dissolves easier) or make a simple syrup (better), boiling equal parts sugar and water until dissolved then cool. Can be kept in fridge (not sure how long though). Measures just like sugar. Good Luck. ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
don't know quantities a lot, pinch a this and pinch a that!

large sauce pot
2 large cans each dices tomatoes and tomato puree
2 med cans italian diced tomatos
2 ribs celery
1-2 carrots
1med onion
1 tsp rounded- minced or chopped garlic (bottle type)
2 cups red or pink wine
2 large cans of water
basil oregano salt
olive oil
dice vegtables and saute in pot with olive oil until translucent and soft (cover and low for about 20-25min). Add garlic and cook for a few min. You don't want garlic to burn. I sometimes add mushrooms, olives at this point, this is optional.
add all tomato, water and salt to taste (don't oversalt it will cook down and concentrate)
add about 2 tsp basil and 1 of oregano. can add some red pepper flakes for a little heat. bring to a boil and turn down to simmer about an hour with cover ajar to let evaporate. Then add wine and a little more basil and oregano, a few shakes of each 'bout 2 or 3. and about 1/4-1/2 cup sugar, to taste. I layer the flavors. Simmer for another hour or 2 until get little thicker consistancy. I sometimes add a little tomato paste to thicken if too thin. I think this makes about 6 qts? can be frozen in containers and mixed w/ store bought to give it a home made taste...I add a little wine when I mix them.
Enjoy! ... View related article.
