There are some really crafty people out there. I love all the ideas, I think I might do the R. simmons one. Anyway I did the wizard of oz one year, but we didn't have enough people so one person went as 2, One half of them was one character and the other half was another, we sewed the outfits together straight down the center, so each profile looked like a different person, You could try The three stooges, if there was only two of you, you could each dress up as a dime and be a paradime. O.K. maybe not, it was funny to me.:) ... View related article.
I don't know if you could use this for this project or not, because of the photo part. I was thinking of making clay square or round garden tiles that you can write on with permanant markers and maybe have them draw the picture of their favorite place on it then spray sealer or shalaque them then put them out in the church garden. If there is not one they can maybe start one. Have fun with whatever you do, I am sure they will love it. ... View related article.
Thanks for sharing, I am going to do this with my daughters class this year, she is in 2nd grade. This goes to show again, that the cost of something is not neccessarily the value of it. I Love it! ... View related article.
I have found such a great idea that actually works. I hate when I buy something on sale only to find my child really hates it and whines when I try and make them wear it so I just say ok forget it, wear something else. So this year I went to my local bargin store, or even the 99cent store and bought good quality plain cotton t-shirts in all colors they like. Then go to craft store and buy iron on paper, find free clipart they like, save the images to desktop then print out on paper and iron on, so easy to do and cheap. Also you can go to the craft store ( I have Michael's) and they sell iron on's that are beaded, or sequinced, really nice and easy to do. I made 5 shirts for $15.00. I will add the same type of prints to the jeans leg or back pockets, skirt and short bottom corners. So they can match and look real cute. That is just my first try. I can't wait to do more. ... I just love those ideas you posted. I am a big fan of using something that is in perfectly good condition for another job around the house. You could use it across the kids room to hang pictures or art work up for them to display. ... View related article.
I have fixed dark clothing before with washing them with a really dark brand new towel or item that you know will bleed/fade with one wash. My advice would be to make the dye mix in a bag or bowl with enough liquid to cover the item totally for an even coloring all over let it sit and soak in then wash with other darks. One time I was so cheap, I used blk printer ink refill liquid I got at the $.99 cent store to re-dye my item. It worked ... View related article.

I use those hanging material/plastic shoe pocket bags as well, but not only for shoes but for paired socks, belts, underwear ... if they don't have a dresser or are out of room in the other. If you get a kids one the pockets are smaller so it has at least 12 or more pockets. You must be careful not to overload it and be sure it is a strong one that you can hang on a wooden hanger in the closet right next to the other clothes, except this hanger will save 3x's the space. *Also when you fold the shirts /or pants put each one slightly off to the side(*like a deck of cards spread out*) so you can see all the shirts without picking up the whole pile or messing them up. Here is a link to an amazing T-shirt fold: http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/15594/
