Start a Murray Mower in CHOKE or START mode !
My Murray riding mower requires the speed selector to be placed in the START or CHOKE position to start.

Won't start otherwise.

I'd spray some Carb-Cleaner into the carb while it is running until it stalls, let it set an hour and start it up again.

Try some carb cleaner additive to gasoline also - dissolves the gummy deposits in bad gasoline...some gasoline is full of "garbage" - cheap, "no-name" gasoline especially.

Here is a very important note - every winter you must put something called "STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer" into the gasoline you leave setting in any 4-cycle gasoline powered device...!

This stuff is not very expensive and will keep the gasoline from gumming up the carburetor when it freezes during winter months.

I swear by it! Had many carburetor problems in Spring before I discovered STA-BIL (sold in any "Hardware" type of store in a nice dispenser bottle).

RE: Recharging a Dead Laptop Battery
Old rechargable batteries can sometimes be saved by repeated discharge - charge cycles.

If not, they are Kaput!

You can get darned good batteries from a place called

http://www.batteryrefill.com/laptops/

for very reasonable prices.

I ordered one and it is all new NIMH inside!

RE: Sewing Velcro
Some crafts stores sell Leather Needles - they have a wooden handle and are large....

RE: Can Dry Erase Markers Be Refilled?
I know that 99% Rubbing Alcohol or even Lacquer thinner (alcohol) will dissolve that ink.

Maybe try some alcohol that has no water in it.

Alcohol for Fondu Burners, Denatured alcohol ?

RE: Replacing Pulley on Riding Lawn Mower
A pulley "puller" is a good idea. Harbor-Freight in Spokane on Sprague and Sullivan has them.

RE: Repairing Scratched DVDs
Scratched CD's and DVD's may be fixed by using Auto Polish-Wax.

Clean the CD or DVD with a damp soft cloth.
Now use a CLEAN, SOFT cloth for the following (CLEAN!)
Grit will destroy your CD's and DVD's...!

Apply small drop of Car Wax (I use Turtle Wax) and buff outward from center to edge! NOT CIRCULARLY! NEVER!

Rub wax in by rubbing center to edge and back.
Apply a drop of wax for each approx 1 inch section.
Do this all around the DVD or CD - rub HARD.

Let dry and buff off with very soft rag. Works for all but really deep scratches. Deep scratches may need Car POLISH for using on scratched car paint, then finish up with the car WAX.

Works for me!

RE: Fixing Unresponsive TV Remote Buttons
Something else...when I took the remote apart, the PC board and the bottom of the rubber pad had some sticky yellow oily stuff over half of it.

I cleaned that off with Kleenex and Kitchen Detergent.

You would be surprised at what can get inside these push button devices!

People spill soft drinks, oils from food, coffee, tea, etc and don't realize that it happened...and it does not show from the outside!
