RE: Adding Volume to Thin, Fine Hair
Try taking vitamins. Vitamin E and biotin work wonders for hair. ... View related article.

RE: Holding Up Liberty Spikes
Use sugar water. Dissolve some sugar in some warm water and apply to your hair. This will create a really great base. Garnier makes hair putty which works pretty well too. Be sure that you put the majority of your chosen styling product at the bottom of each spike, close to the roots. The rules of physics apply to cool hair do's as well... if the top is too heavy and not supported well, your hair will fall over.

Try glue also, but be careful as it will destroy the texture and quality of your hair. If this is a style you planning on wearing for a few months rather than a few hours, wash your hair a lot less... once a week or every other week, when it starts to attract bugs (hehe) and forget the conditioner all together.

To get this mess out, use a bit of baking soda when washing your hair. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of Static in Hair
Try using olive oil, or a weekly conditioning mask. Mashed avocados work well as a hair mask if you are concerned about chemicals.

I would strongly advise not to use laundry products in your hair. The chemicals in them are graded for laundry, not for hair which is damaged easily. Plus, the health risks of that are too much of a gamble. ... View related article.

RE: Recommendations for Cheap Face Wash
Ok. My skincare regimen is as follows... hope you can use some of the advice!

Before you touch your face.. always always always wash your hands. I wash my face only twice per day to prevent over drying.

1) Wash face with warm water to open pores
2) Wash with PanOxyl (10% Benzoyl Peroxide face wash)
3) Every other day, wash your face with honey and sugar. The sugar should be coarse enough so you can feel it on your face. Leave on for about 10 mins and massage into your skin to prevent it from dripping. Wash with warm water mixed with baking soda.
4) Be sure to pat dry with a clean towel
5) Use a benzoyl peroxide cream (I use whatever is on sale, 10% solution)
6) Apply an oil free moisturizer with alpha hydroxy acid.
7) Use sunscreen that is oil free.

Don't pick at your blackheads or try to squeeze them out. Don't use those blackhead strips. Try not to use anything with chemicals (except for the benzoyl peroxide). They will all irritate your skin!
Witch hazel and apple cider vinegar are great to freshen up during the day.

As for make up, try Organic Wear by Physican's Formula. It is organic, mineral based make up and it is pretty inexpensive. You can buy it at Target.

RE: Protecting a Tattoo When Tanning
A former lifeguard with 8 tattoos suggests... zinc oxide, or SPF 50+. Desitin will work, but it will get sandy if at the beach, and it stinks. Sunblock sticks (rather than lotions or sprays) tend to work great. I personally like NO-AD. $10 for a huge bottle. ... View related article.

RE: Inexpensive Face Moisturizer
Vaselline is too heavy and will clog pores and make your skin worse! The same can be said for olive oil. Try washing your face with honey once per day. It will give your face lots of extra moisture, firm skin, and help clear blemishes too. No matter which lotion you choose, if it is for your face, make sure that it is not too thick or greasy, and that it doesn't have a ton of harsh chemicals, perfumes, or dyes. ... RE: Getting Eyelashes to Grow
Try getting them dyded. Have a professional do this, because certain dyes can cause eye irritation and even blindness. I dye my eyelashes black about every other month or so. It looks much more natural than clumpy mascara, and you will have the effect of lengthening them. The other poster was correct, eyelash length is genetic. You can make them look longer, but not actually make them grow. ... View related article.
