RE: Montana's Cornbread Muffin Recipe
Thanks Kaelle: The Canadian Parents site was the one I was looking for. If it tastes like just like it I'll put on weight I know I will. ... View related article.

RE: Drying Lettuce
The clean drying cloth (for dishes) works. Just take each corner up like a pouch and spin your arm while you are holding it. Do it outside. ... View related article.

RE: Front Load Washer Vs. Top Load Washer
No, the clothes do not wear out faster. I put more in the gentle cycle like lesser quality cotton t-shirts that I like. I've had mine for about 4 years.
For me these benefits outweigh the toploader:
1. Quicker drying in winter in dryer
2. Lower water bill and detergent costs
3. I finish my laundry quicker as I have to take it out of the washer very soon after it stops.

4. Cleaner clothes with less detergent & less water
5. Less skin irritation because the soap is rinsed and spun out.
6. I can now wash my blankets, mattress cover & quilts(quilts on gentle) but I line dry on a sunny day with a breeze.

I don't like:
1. that I have to wipe out the gasket every time
2. if the door is closed by mistake, the dryer smells musky when I open it to do a wash
3. Cannot presoak, but it's a good excuse to get out of the house & see my Grandson, or visit a good friend. ... View related article.

RE: Craft: Rag Rug from Recycled Fleece Clothing
Isobel - I love your rug & recycling. I've been wanting to do this, tried rag rugmaking years ago. The fleece I've been thinking about lately because I have scraps from sewing & clothes and am an avid second hand shopper. I would love further directions, Where do I get a hespian. I just did mine on canvas with a rug hook, then machine and hand sewing. It was ok, but nothing like this beautiful creation. Thank you so much. ... View related article.

RE: Protecting Outdoor Decks
I have used Thompson's Water Seal with excellent results. When I want to paint a deck I use only Floor and Porch Enamel Exterior.
