RE: Buying Bulk Paraffin Wax
I haven't made fire logs but I've made fire starters using sawdust or wood shavings which you can buy at pet stores; the type used in rodent cages. (Look for unscented ones.) I put the shavings or sawdust in empty cardboard egg cartons, (not styrofoam,) then melt old candle stubs in an empty coffee can. Pour the melted wax over the shavings until they can't absorb any more, then allow them to cool. Break the egg carton apart into 12 sections and you have 12 little fire starters. Great for starting bonfires or fires at the beach in fire rings. Just tuck a few in and amongst the kindling wood and light them. It's the easiest way I have found to start a fire.

RE: Kokoa Girl in the Flowers
And I thought I was the only lunatic that got a kick out of putting clothes on my dogs! This photo is priceless. I know lots of people are frightened of pit bulls, but I have known an equal number of sweet loving pits. It's all in how you choose to raise them. You must have done a great job by the looks of it! ... View related article.

RE: Freezing Tomato Sauce
I have kept a tomato garden for years, but didn't want to go to all the trouble that my grandmother did to make sauce and can it. I just wash and core my tomaotes, cut them into small chunks, pulverize them in my vita-mix, and pour the contents into zip-lick bags. I lable each bag with the date, and lay them flat in the freezer until solid. I have done this for years without a problem. The contents can then be thawed and later used to make spaghetti sauce, soup base, you name it. You may notice however as I did, that the contents tend to separate upon thawing, and there is a good deal of water in the top of the bag. You may either pour it off, or mix it into whatever you are making. ... View related article.
