RE: Cotton Blanket Stiff After Drying
I would try washing it again, using liquid fabric softener in the rinse cycle. Then dry it on the proper setting with 4 or 5 dryer balls. If you don't have those, you could use regular tennis balls or even the old trick of a pair of clean sneakers.
Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Canning Jars for Blending
For those confused about the spilling thing, you take the collar and blade off the blender and screw it onto the jar, which is right side up. Then you turn it over and put it on the blender. When you're done, take off the jar with the blender collar attached, turn it right side up and unscrew the blender collar.

My first Osterizer blender that I bought in the 70's came with small jars meant for baby food. I now have a Cuisinart, and the canning jars fit it too.

For those who say it's a lot of work, it does come in handy if you want to grind coffee beans or spices, since you have separate jars for them, and because they are compact, they are good for grinding the smaller amounts efficiently (the bits stay closer and hit the blades more often). ... RE: Make Meatballs From Leftover Meatloaf
Maggie3956 asks: "How do you do it? You can't roll cooked meat into a meatball." That was my thought too.. I thought maybe she was talking about the hamburger mixture, but she does say "after it cools" which implies cooking first. The only way I can see to do that is to cut it into chunks. Otherwise, I don't get it either. ... View related article.

RE: Make Meatballs From Leftover Meatloaf
I also do the cut-up meatloaf thing like OliveOyl. Makes a great quick meat sauce! I'm curious, though, how do you roll cooked meatloaf into balls? ... View related article.

RE: Repairing a Nick in Corian
It will have to be done professionally. Call the vendor that you bought it from. If you don't know who the vendor was, pick any Corian vendor out of the yellow pages. If they don't do repairs, they will be able to direct you to someone who does. ... View related article.

RE: Will Cantaloupe Ripen in the Fridge?
I would leave it out on the counter, not in the fridge. ... View related article.

RE: Making Bras
Re the WalMart bras; I used to buy a Bali minimizer bra that I loved, in Kohls. Then they stopped having them. I even contacted Bali; I was told that model was not being manufactured any more.

Then while I was looking at bras for my daughter in Wal Mart, I noticed a familiar picture on a JMS (Just My Size) bra box. I couldn't believe it...took it out of the box to check..it was the exact bra I had been buying by Bali...now made under a different name. It even had the same style number as it had when it was Bali! (Bali had apparently sold them the line).

Now I buy all my bras in Wal Mart for $12 each! Lesson: don't get hung up on a name! I'll bet the same few companies are making all the bras for department stores and discount stores too! ... View related article.

RE: Sparky (West Highland Terrier)
Isn't it amazing what dogs learn? My 8-year-old Yorkie does the same thing; knows all his toys. He also plays ball by himself. He has a little tennis ball that he "throws" by flinging his head, and then chases it. He also "negotiates." Sometimes when I tell him to "get in your bed" in the family room, he goes right in front of it, lies down on the floor and looks at me as if to say "Is this close enough?" LOL Usually he gets away with it, because hubby and I are laughing!

RE: Store Salad Greens With a Paper Towel
I agree...a paper towel is great! I do the same with with many things. I put one in the bottom of the bag that stores celery, and loosely wrap herbs such as parsley and rosemary. It definitely prolongs their life.

RE: Removing Leather Dye from Socks
If it's leather dye, you're probably stuck with it. Keep the stained socks separate as designated "work socks" so he doesn't ruin any more. ... View related article.
