RE: Party Favors For 20 Year Reunion Slumber Party
Hi Slumber party will be great fun! How about making bags with designs that reflect those "teen idols" of your period for example George Michael, Jason Donovon, Staurday Night Fever, Grease etc

Throw in party favors that includes games like Pac Man or candy that was fashionable during your school days like Superlemon candies, Jellybeans or Coke in glass bottles etc Buy cassette tapes with your favorite songs. Well cool shades like those worn by Tom Cruise in the movie "Top Gun" is also one of my favorites.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

RE: Pink Themed Games For Party
You can consider the theme "In the Pink of Health" or "Pink Panther" or "Strawberry shortcake" etc. Get all your friends to wear pink (guys included!). Get them to play sporty games (in line with the theme) or have a game to prepare a creative "Pink" snack like doughnut dipped in melted pink cream or baked mini cupcakes with colorful M&Ms or pink fondant or butter cream .

Food wise you can prepare pink or red color food like strawberries dipped half in melted chocolate, pink milk shakes or cola drinks, pink color cakes or cupcakes. Decor wise - you can use different shades of pink and cream or white from the table cloth or the games area.

Get party guests to come with red or pink color food and drinks like red wine, fingerfood with pink decorations like dried pink orchids or rose petals etc.

Pink also represents romance so put on some romantic music or smooth jazz.

To end the party with pink favor bags for everyone to bring home - some pink items to remember the party by.

RE: Is Planning Your Own Birthday Party Tacky?
Who says planning your own Birthday party is tacky? In fact it is fun! I planned my own Birthday party when I was 21 because I wanted something really special and only wanted to invited friends I really can enjoy spending that special day with. I had lots of fun. In fact, my close friends and family members throw in a surprise for me, they bought me an expensive Swiss automatic watch which I still wear and keep until today (I'm a mother of two now!)

RE: Planning a Bachelorette Party
How about having a spa party? You can kill two birds with one stone. First, you can let the bride-to-be ease some of her stress and have a relaxing time. Secondly, you and the rest of the guests can have a good time of bonding. You can do it at the comfort of your home or if you have the budget, go to a professional spa at a nearby resort.

RE: Planning a Non-Profit Awards Banquet
Since it is a non-profit organisation I believe there will be a few volunteers like you. You may want to form a committee for this event to distribute the duties. Event venue and catering will eat up the major part of your shoe-string budget. If you can get the volunteers to solicit a free venue, that will be great or even use the organization's existing hall or open garden will help save you some money. Next, get volunteers to do-it-yourself theme decorations or make it a contest/game.

Instead of catering, you can make it a BBQ or buffet event. Better still if you can get some donors to contribute food (make sure you do a food planning list first).

All the best!

RE: My Frugal Holiday: Gift Grabbers Auction
What a fantastic tradition and fun for the whole family. I wish many families can spend Christmas together this year. It is especially rare for 3 or 4 generations to gather together.

I don't have Christmas traditions but certainly can plan for one after reading your post.

Thanks for sharing!

May you have a wonderful Christmas!

RE: Welcome Bags for Wedding Guests
I have two wedding parties and one of which is at a Malaysian beach resort for close friends and relatives. I filled all 50 mini slings bags with a tropical island picture with a couple wearing batik shirts in the background printed on it. I put in different kinds of tropical fruits : banana, apple, lychee, longan, chicku, starfruit, dragon fruit and mangosteen all wrapped in a clear ziploc bag and put inside the sling bag. The draw strings have a cute key chain made of Chinese clogs (wooden shoes).
