RE: Use Cornstarch to Reduce Bleeding
I've used cornstarch for years when I clip my bird's toenails and accidentally get too close to the vein. Before trimming I get ready by taking about a three inch piece of cut straw and jamming it into the cornstarch so that it's kinda softly packed into the straw. Then if I get a bleeder I put the toenail into the straw filled with cornstarch and the bleeding stop almost immediately. I would say this would work with cat and dog toenails also.

I'm glad your goat is okay. ... View related article.

RE: What is this Plant?
It's starting to dry up now so tell me how to gather the seeds and email me your address (and anyone else that would like some too) and we'll be happy to do some trading. Mom said she'd love some red ones too.

We're also looking for a Kalanchoe "pregnant plant" if anyone has this. ... View related article.

RE: What is this Plant?
Thank you. Bee Balm is what I originall thought but it is growing different than any Bee Balm I've ever had. My mom has an area that she loves her "tall flowers to grow". It starts with zinnias, then this plant and then tapers down to Echinacea. She/We have no idea what she's doing but her gardens are beautiful ... View related article.

RE: What is this Plant?
Thank you and I did look but I didn't find any like this one. It appears that this has at least three flowers on the same stem.

It's a little hard to tell from the picture above. I'm adding a second picture to see if it shows more clearly how the stem comes out of the middle of one flower and up to the next flower then out it's middle up to the next.

I'll be back over to see it this evening so maybe I can get a better picture. ... View related article.

RE: Noisy Budgies
Birds are noisy and messy. You can cover them up as already suggested but keeping them in the dark is not healthy. If they are that bothersome to you I suggest selling or giving them away.

Sorry to disagree but not all pet stores keep them behind glass because of the noise. They are kept behind glass because they are small and easy to steal, as are other small birds, and also to contain all the mess they create. As a breeder I have worked with many many pet stores and I even owned one before a large pet store chain opened up nearby. ... View related article.

RE: What Breed is My Dog?
He looks exactly like a pup my Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix had. My Siberian, Buffy, was pregnant when I got her but I was told a full blooded shepherd bred with her. I gave all the pups away, which one went to a friend. Your son's beautiful dog looks just about identical to that pup the last time I saw it which it was about 1-1/2 years old. Buffy also shed in huge clumps.

So my guess would be Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix. ... View related article.
