RE: Cleaning Ceramic Floor Tiles
I have tile floors and all I have to do is take a splash of white vinegar (brown vinegar will stain your light tiles so use white) in a gallon bucket and wa la mop your floor. It disinfects and cleans just fine. The smell only lasts a few minutes. With in an hour most of it is gone.

You may also use a splash of bleach and it smells sweeter, but it is alot harder on your septic. Be careful of course because anything it touches will be eaten through if you get to much on it.

When they installed it, they said dont use soap on your tile as it collects dirt and of course that just defeats your purpose.

Hope it works for you 2. ... View related article.

RE: Recipe Using Day Old Bagels
We love baked bagels. Half your bagels and cover with cream cheese. Add a thin slice of ham(any kind will do. we like turkey ham.) Put sprouts any kind we prefer alfalfa though. Cover with a slice of american, cheddar or your choice of cheese. Nummmmmmmmy
Bake on 350* for about 8 minutes. Till cheeses melt.

We have most of these ingredients on hand so it is an easy, fast and inexpensive way to feed family. Of course hubby eats more then one. You can add what ever to it to make up your meal.

I read children should always eat potatoes, so we have them almost every day. We have potato farmers living up north a bit so we buy 50 to 100 lb at a time for about $8.00 a bag. If you bake them and slice in half almost all the way through, dig out the potato and mix like you would mashed potatoes. I add a small amount of bacon/bits, veggie of choice to help expand the meal. The kids really like this for dinner.

Baked squashes any kind you like are great and oven is on.
I try to do as much with the oven at that time as I can. It helps cut on cost and baking a few extra potatoes are great for fried potatoes the next day with eggs. ... View related article.

I don't do my laundry in the tub much any more but I sure do light washing all the time. While traveling, I do it in the shower or tub. Hang the clothes from the shower nozzle. ... View related article.

RE: Going Back to My Mama's Ways
Home grown meals are right tina. We dont get many people that do those anymore. Or maybe I just dont hear about them. I have never heard of beans like this and sounds wonderful. I need to know how to make it with canned beans though, as I dont have any fresh. I grew up with meat and veges, but my mom doesnt share well and so many recipes are gone or forgotten. I went home a couple of years ago for a branding and man the feed that those women put out, with nothing, was dumbfounding to me. There was fried chicken like I had never tasted. If chicken wasnt your thing then you could have finger steaks. Melted in your mouth. mashed , fried, boiled potatoes. Wonderfuul green beans. Some kind of pea dish and carrots. Of course it was all topped off with the old stand by ~ green salad with many toppings. I know that the bacon bits were fresh off the pig. WOW is all I could say and Thanks a milion times as that was a treat many peiple would not get. There of course all the families eat like that. I ate like I havent since I was a kid. Was way fun. Made me homesick.

Pattie I wait for more of your recipes and ideas. thanks ... View related article.

I remember eating a lot of greenbeans. I also remember planting , picking bushels of them and snapping greenbeans all day for canning. We also ate alot of tomatoe gravey. We lived on what we grew in the garden.

Judy ~ what is tomatoe gravy? Is it like a tom sauce or actual gravy? To interesting to learn this.
