RE: Painting Drawer Pulls
If they are metal, use paint made for metal, such as Rustoleum. I had antique brass looking pulls (of cheap white metal not real brass) and I painted them with "hammered gold" Rustoleum. That was four or five years ago & they are wearing well. ... View related article.

You can have your home kitchen approved by the local health department. Call them and ask what you need to do to accomplish your goals. Public health people are very helpful and usually nice (unless they expect a hard time, then they can be not nice). ... View related article.

RE: Windowbox Gardening
I've been growing parsley in a container in my kitchen all winter. Next winter I will keep an indoor garden of greens so that I can have a nice, fresh salad every few weeks. (I have an outside garden about 8' x 3'.

I read someplace a quote from a California lettuce producer who said "I don't care whats in it, on it, or what it tastes like, so long as the right number fit in the box and the box passes the inspector."

Yes. The difference is mostly in texture. Old fashioned oats are larger, whole pieces of rolled oat, while quick oats have been cut up into small bits. You will get more texture from using old fashioned oats and a smoother texture from using quick oats. Measurements & baking time are the same. ... View related article.
