RE: Saving Money on Child Care
I operate an in home childcare. If you take your child out for the summer, I don't have a spot for that child when school starts up again. period! We don't make much at this business to begin with. Where I live in East Texas there is a shortage of childcare providers, and I imagine some of it has to do with people who try to save the money of quality care for something less than optimal. What would your provider do if your child injured themself or someone else! Are they going to be calm enough to render first aid, call an ambulance if needed and then you? Most teenagers can't do that. And if they are going to have the responsibility of your children or child all summer long, you know good and well that either the child will be miserable or injured if having fun!! Come on, give us a break. We need to make a living too! ... View related article.

RE: Freeze Milk Before It Goes Bad
since the price of milk is going up almost as fast a gas, and the fact that I
have an in-home child care, I have been buying milk while on sale and freezing it in cartons for drinking I have to buy 2 gallons of 2%, 1 of whole and 1 skim and 1/2 soy and 1/2 lactose free each and every week. at $4.00 a gallon that is quite pricy. Since I only use all of the 2% it also would mean lots of waste. So I freeze the whole and skim in the sized containers I need for the week. The soy and lactose free have such along shelf life it almost makes me not want to serve them!!! ... View related article.

RE: Waterless Stacked Cooking
we bought a set in the 70"s from an in house demo person, invite friends over for a dinner demo. I used them for years , never really liked them as much as I thought I would. Didn't fess up to it though, the expense involved plus the fact that we were broke and my husband graciously bought them for me as a Christmas present, I used them much longer than I would have like to. Finally got a set of pampered chef elite cookeware, hard adonized. I love them!! Oh my gosh! Nothing sticks and i can hang the pans with the lids on one hook together. ... View related article.

RE: Vacuums That Last
I have a childcare in my home therefore I vacum every day. I have tried them all over the last 30 plus years that I have been in bussiness. None of them lasted very long and Ive had everything from Kenmore to Kirby to oreck. In fact I had my oreck and had just had it cleaned and tuned when I got my Dyson animal. I got half a canister of "yuck" and that was after I had just used the "new" oreck. Needless to say I love my Dyson. I just empty the canister outside, I live in a single home so no problem for me. i can see where it wouldn't be the most convenient vacum in workd if you lived in an apartment. ...
