RE: Discount Grocery Stores Near Philadelphia (19140)
I haven't been in save-a-lot lately but, my favorite store is Aldi. They carry many generic items that are just as good as name brands foods. I'm sure they are in Philly, go to www.aldifoods.com and search with your zip. I live over the bridge in NJ and do most of my shopping at Aldi. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of Odors in a Cement Basement
Try a dehumidifier, most likely your basement is damp and this will remove the moisture. When I moved in our home, I couldn't keep the basement door open because of the smell. It took several months but, now we have a family room & work-out room down there. Good Luck ... View related article.

RE: Removing Old Wallpaper
I've use the (cheap) fabic softener/water solution along with scoring the wallpaper first. Plus it smells better than the name brand wallpaper solution and a lot less expensive. I use the softener solution to wash the remainder of glue off the walls too. Best of luck ... View related article.

RE: Put Your Address on Your Cane
Hi Mary,
Though I think your idea is a good one it may not be a safe one. In a world that has crime rates skyrocket, I would advise you to put your phone number on items rather than an address. This way you will be contacted and can make arrangements to meet this person in a public place or have a family member with you when it's dropped off. I instruct people on how NOT be a victim, so please give this some thought. Take care..... ... View related article.

RE: Ideas for Using Old Photos at a Birthday Party
Hi, I scanned a photo (age 6) of my Husband for his 50th Birthday Party and used it as the front of the invitation & the back had the time, date, rsvp etc. information. Then, I used photos of him from baby to adulthood {with his children} with captions added in a LARGE frame with the numbers "50" in LARGE print above them. We still get a chuckle from it 2 years later. Hope this helps... ... View related article.

RE: Can This Split Tree Be Saved?
Hi,
I saw a segment of "This Old House' where they used large bolts {drilled through first} cris-crossed through the tree and screws that were tightened into the tree. An arborist did this on the show. Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Use Ammonia As Oven Cleaner
You must of read my mind!! I had asthma as a child and can't tolerate spray oven cleaners, so I would always look for the "No Fumes" type but they didn't do a decent job. I will definitely try this soon. Thanks.... ... View related article.

RE: Remedies for Hot Glue Gun Burns
That's a great idea...and if you know you'll need to hold the item you're gluing in place for a second or so, I use wooden skewers...hands are far away from the hot glue and the tip is small enough not to interfer with what you're trying to accomplish!!! ... View related article.
