| RE: 2 to 4 Serving Cake Recipes |
If using a cake mix, make two small pans and then freeze one, eat the other. Or make one cake and with the remaining make cupcakes and freeze. If making homemade, cut in half and freeze the rest.
Freeze by first wrapping in plastic wrap and then tightly wrap in aluminum foil. I use this method and it works fine. Let thaw in refrigerator. Also, if the portion you are freezing is small, use a plastic bag, making sure to remove the excessive air, and then wrap in foil. ... View related article. |

| RE: Keeping Turkey Hot and Juicy After Cooking |
Use a crockpot. Depending on the size of the turkey, you may need two crock pots. My friend does this. She puts the turkey juices from the pan on the bottom of the crock pot and adds the sliced turkey.
Set on low heat. Cover with aluminum foil and then the lid. If you have a warm setting, set it on low for about one half hour and then turn it on warm. Be sure the turkey is not cold when adding to the crockpot.
I would think if you do not want the sliced turkey sitting in the juices, you can probably use an inverted dish or balled-up wads of aluminum foil at the bottom. Happy Thanksgiving! ... View related article. |

Pour batter into prepared pans, sprinkle top of loaves with the sugar/cinnamon mix. Optional, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top. Bake for one hour or until tested done. Cool in pans for 10 minutes. May be served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Freezes well; tightly wrap cooled loaves in plastic wrap, then in foil before freezing.
Note: I have read that you can substitute 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce for 1/2 cup of the oil. I have not tried this.
If someone has tried this substitute, please let us know how it turned out. Thanks. ... View related article. |

| RE: Green Stains in Tub and Around Fixtures |
I know you do not own the home but I thought you would like to know this. You possibly may have acidic water which is breaking down the copper in the pipes. Over time, the copper pipes will develop pin hole leaks in the pipes. You would need to get an acid neutralizer system to get rid of the problem. Or replace all the copper pipes with plastic.
You can test your water by using a Ph test kit used for fish tanks or sometimes businesses will test it for free. Call a local plumber or plumbing supply. Keep in mind, they are trying to make a sale. These systems initially are not cheap, but pay for themselves in the long run.
To clean the tub, try Soft Scrub with bleach, let it sit to penetrate a bit. Most likely the finish on the tub is worn off. Try completely wiping dry the tub and any other places you get the green coloring after getting it clean. Good luck. ... View related article. |

| RE: Crockpot Meatballs |
You must cook/heat the frozen meatballs thoroughly before adding to a crock pot. It is not safe to cook any type of meats when it is still frozen in a crock pot. My husband was sick from food poisoning when meatballs were done like that. Microwave them first to heat thoroughly and then add to the crock pot along with the sauce. ... View related article. |

| RE: Stained Glass Window Film |
Try this for a different look. Use small or large bubble wrap that is using for packing. Cut it to fit the inside glass and spray a bit of water on the glass, wipe any of the wood for overspray.
It isn't permanent and can be removed easily. I have used this on my front door and back door windows for privacy. It allows light in but provides privacy. I have had it on my windows for well over a year and it still is sticking. You could also thumb tack it in on the corners if need be. ... View related article. |

| RE: Using Bleach in a Humidifier |
|
The Wal-mart in our area sells an additive to keep the water in a humidifier clean from mold and bacteria. It is fairly inexpensive. One bottle usually lasts awhile. I believe the manufacturer is Holmes. A humidifier should be disinfected every 4-6 weeks or when needed. I use a mix of bleach and water, rinsing thoroughly before using. ... View related article. |
