RE: Restoring Shine to Laminated Hardwood Flooring
I was in a shop recently and noticed the laminated flooring was painted with glossy gym sealer. It looked good, but I don't know how long it would hold up before having to repaint it. ... View related article.

RE: Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas for Doctor's Office
I like the idea of pamphyila's to hang office staff pictures or baby pics. I like small bows, lights and pine cones edged in white depending on size of tree. ... View related article.

RE: Feeding a Large Crowd Cheaply
Buy several cheap pizzas and add your own garnishments to it. I do this all the time and they're always tasty. Buy mozarella cheese and shred it yourself. Add any of these items: pineapple, mushrooms, olives, pimentos, sweet or hot peppers, lunch meat, pepperoni, onions, and chop, slice, or shred to top and bake. The pizzas are nutritional and filling. Serve chips and drinks and you're sure to please. It costs a lot less to buy these canned/jarred items than if ordering from a restaurant. You could also do the all meat pizzas using lunch meat, pepperoni, cooked ground beef or sausage.

Grilled cheese is also good or how about a crock of chili with peanut butter sandwiches. Sloppy Joes, A ham and cheese melt sandwich or sausage and biscuits or spaghetti with ground beef added to the sauce with crackers. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Concrete
That could be used by your county workers when constructing/blocking roads while working on them and I would contact someone like that first before breaking apart or a gas station or other businesses in town and they could haul it for you and be put to good use. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of Mouse in Car
If your car sits in a garage when not in use, then set mouse traps around the garage and keep them baited all winter to prevent them from nesting in your vehicles; otherwise, set a few baited traps under the car and hopefully catch some this way.

My husband got a plastic pail and bored a hole in both the sides large enough for a small dowel rod to slide through. He filled the pail half fuil of water and spread peanut butter over the dowel rod's mid area. When the mouse would go for the bait, it caused the dowel rod to roll over and the mouse landed in the water and couldn't escape. He catches a lot of mice this way and it's much easier to dispose of the varmint. He also dug a hole big enough for the pail to sit in, so it was ground level. ... View related article.

RE: Feeding Turkey to a Dog
As long as you remove the skin and bones from the meat prior to feeding your dog. There's something in the skin of turkey/chicken that is not good for the dogs and the bones are brittle and splintery. ... View related article.

RE: Winterizing an Old House
You can buy various thicknesses of clear plastic on the bolt at Super Walmart Stores and is much cheaper than the kits.
Thermal insulated panels also help to keep rooms warmer in winter and cooler in summer. You can get a variety of window film patterns that also block out UV rays, add privacy and provide protection from some heat loss at Lowe's and Home Depot for about $30.00 and diy or have professionally done which is expensive.

You can buy weather stripping that works well around window frames and doors. Check for drafts around windows and doors and use caulking to help. (comes in clear and white) or use insulating spray foam in a can to help insulate and seal. Trim off excess evenly against wall/framework. ... View related article.

RE: Fixing a Slow Draining Toilet
If the idea of bleach doesn't work, my thoughts are you could have a septic system problem and need more septic system lines added to the existing layout. We've had a lot of rain this year and that affects septic systems too. If you're on town sewage I don't know what problems that causes if any, but inquire to the politically correct party and learn if there's an existing problem in your area. Maybe it is something they could suggest. ... View related article.
