Profile For lynnt - lynnt

I am a senior citizen.  I have one daughter, one son-in-law, and two grandsons who all live with me!.  One grandson is 2.5 years and the other 4 weeks. I think they are living with me until the oldest finishes destroying things, then they'll move to their own place, lol.

I'm a computer addict.  Love recipes, reading books, reality and educational tv.  I'm a nature lover and can't wait to retire.

RE: Removing Shells From Hard Boiled Eggs
I agree with the person who said add vegetable oil to the cooking water. I saw that hint somewhere about a month ago and I've done it twice (I also add some salt to the cooking water). They peeled very easily AFTER draining, running cold water over them and then cracking them all over first. Seems like I've read to start peeling at the fat end first, but can't remember. ... RE: Mushroom Barley Soup
I think it's interesting that you've used caraway seeds in this. I took a jar of caraway seeds and processed them in my coffee grinder and use small amounts as additions to lots of dishes because I like the taste, but not necessarily the surprise of biting into a whole seed. The "powder" give a very subtle flavor and is great in soups, stews and casseroles. ... View related article.

RE: Advice For Selling Jewelry
I have seen ads and heard others talking about jewelry parties where you sell your gold for cash. The only reason I'm NOT going to do that is because I'm afraid that when the US dollar is worthless, I won't have any "money" or valuables. You might want to hang on to SOME of your good jewelry ... RE: Keeping Track of Logins, Websites and Phone Numbers
I email myself the links for sites I want to check or keep up with - I made myself a folder in my email called favorites to store them in. I also email myself with my information in the subject line of an email, such as Yahoo - my user name - my password. Then I email them to myself at two of my email addresses (just in case something happens to one of them) and after receiving the email, I transfer the email to a folder I made called Memberships. When I can't remember what my user name is for a site or password or whatever, I open the membership folder, do a sort by subject and there it is. ... View related article.

RE: Stopping Insoles From Slipping
You might try some of that stuff you can get at Walmart, etc. that is in the cabinet shelf liner area. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be for - probably lining shelves, lol. I've used it under my computer keyboard to keep it from slipping, so you might be able to cut some to the size and shape of your insoles and see if that helps. You might even be able to use it INSTEAD of your insoles. ... View related article.

RE: Turn A Photo Into A Window Outside
This would be a great idea if you have to live somewhere other than where you want (like Iraq). If you could make a photo of a favorite place and package it with a "frame", then send to a soldier to hang in their tent or "room", it would be such a nice thing to look at as they went to sleep.

This would also be good for college students or any military personnal who are missing a certain place. You wouldn't have to have people in the picture, just a place where they could remember earlier times. ... View related article.
