| RE: Patchwork Back Porch |
Your backporch in patchwork looks so very nice and welcoming. I especially like the idea you had to use bandanas as a table cloth, and I may very well do that for my kitchen table inside!
But that seat cover your grandma (or godmother if that's what you meant) made for you....is priceless. Put that wonderful seat cover in a frame to preserve it and perhaps hang it on your porch by the table. A lot of love for you had to go into it, even if it's not in perfect condition today. Not fussing at ya', just offering a suggestion. Maybe you could use bandanas as seat covers. I love what you've done on your beautiful porch! Great job! ... View related article. |

Perhaps you could find a gallon size plastic vinegar jug. It should give about the same results as they are fairly close in size. I made several of these about twenty-five years ago and gave them as gifts during the Christmas holidays. I still have mine and it has held up really well. I hope this helps in your search for plastic jug/bottle. ... View related article. |

I wish I could have been there with you all. It looks like such a fun thing you were doing. Picnicing can be so inexpensive and yet so much fun, great for spending quality time with family and friends. Denver has to be better weather wise for a picnic right now than our hot, humid and mosquito fighting Louisiana weather. Thanks for sharing with us! ... View related article. |

| RE: Use Waxed Paper To Lower Summer Cooling Costs |
Use bubble wrap instead, even recycled/leftover bubble wrap. Check out this web page for a great way to use bubble wrap to insulate windows. All you do is wet the window pane (inside room) with plain water, stick the 'cut to fit size' bubble wrap on the glass, and leave it. It says you can even use second hand bubble wrap from furniture, shipping, etc. I haven't had the chance to do this yet, but I'm going to make time very soon. I hope you can get to this website! http://www.builditsolar.com/Projects/Conservation/bubblewrap.htm ... View related article. |

| RE: Skunk Behavior: Running in Circles |

Several years ago we had the same experience, but with a racoon. He turned in circles out in the open, then finally got to a tree and went round and round the tree, always going in the same direction. We made a call to Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries and were told that the coon was more than likely rabid as this was not normal. On closer inspection (with binoculars) we saw he was watering/foaming at the mouth, and we had to sadly 'take it down' ourselves. We were also advised to bury it as deep as possible, so as not to expose any of our animals to the rabies, should any of our dogs try to dig it up. ... View related article. |

I love the picture! I wish I could have been there with you, standing there looking at the beautiful creek. Here in central Louisiana we don't have the fun of seeing snowy creekbeds very often, so it was a pleasure to see your picture! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! ... View related article. |
