I know most real cooks might gasp, but I like ribs best when cooked in the crockpot. I just put the ribs in, cover them with my favorite barbecue sauce, and cook til tender. I usually pop them under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp them up. Always delicious. (I have a saying: If you can't cook it in the crockpot, then you shouldn't eat it!) ... When even pets are considered "throw-away" by so many in our society, it is so heartwarming to see someone who loves their pet enough to go the extra mile. Thank you. ... View related article.
The first thing I would do is change banks. This has happened to my husband and my joint account, and just recently happened to my daughter. We all bank at Charter Bank (in Ohio), (Citizens Bank in PA), and we went in to the bank and filed an afadavit, and the bank took care of everything else, including putting the stolen money back into our accounts. They were great in a very terrible situation. Probably doesn't help with your current situation, but hopefully would help in the future. So sorry. It is a stressful experience. ... Good idea, but I would have to remember to look in the closet at the box. I have a calendar book, and I keep track of my prescription refills, the time to color my hair, dog flea and heartworm meds, and anything else that I will inevitably forget if I don't write it down. I have no memory! :) ... View related article.
This is a really good idea. The only thing to be sure of is that you don't buy the kind of peanuts that biodegrade in water. (I have ferrets, and I buy the biodegradable kind so that if they should eat any, it just dissolves. They play in them!) I guess there are two kinds of peanuts :). ... View related article.
I had a cocker many years ago with the same problems. (We have had several cockers through the years, and she was the only one with this problem.) We did and tried everything, from what the vet recommended to anything else we could think of. I finally started keeping baby oil on all of her hot spots, and she eventually cleared up. I don't know if the timing was coincidental or what, but it seemed to work for her. Good luck. ... View related article.
We have had Vonage for over 4 years, both in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I highly recommend it. It is reliable, has great extras included in the price (I forward my home phone to my cell, so I don't miss important calls and I don't have to give out my cell phone number), and the price can't be beat. We have always had a high speed internet connection, so I couldn't say how it would work with anything else. I thought that was required. As another person said, go to Vonage.com and read about it. ... View related article.
I have had many, many dogs in my many, many years (lol). One of them was an alaskan malamute that we rescued. We had our malamute for five years, and she was 10 years old when we got her. She was an absolutely wonderful dog, but there were a number of things about her that made her probably the most difficult dog I have ever owned. Jennifer covered most of the positive and negative in her earlier post: runners, stubborn, shed a lot, very friendly and docile, and protective of the family. The most difficult thing about ours was that she attacked smaller animals (cats, smaller dogs) until I established my Alpha position. And that was not done easily. If you get a malamute, be prepared to work very hard to train him or her. Once trained, you couldn't ask for a better pet. I think the point I am trying to make is that malamutes are not for the faint of heart!! And if you read about the breed, they are not always good around smaller animals. Research malamutes before making your decision. If you can, especially, read about all of the malamutes that have been turned over to rescues because people cannot handle them. Good luck. ... Another interesting fact about foot length --- totally off the subject, but interesting, none the less --- is that your foot is the length of your arm from the wrist to the elbow. Try it and see!! ... View related article.
