| RE: Financial Responsibility for Funeral Costs |
|
I'm very sorry for your family's loss. Did the daughter meet with the funeral director, make all the arrangements, and sign all the applicable documents? If she signed the contracts she should be on the hook for the bills. Funeral homes want someone to take responsibility for payment so someone would have been asked to sign. If she forged your Mother's name you have a very different problem. Have you asked the funeral director who they are holding responsible? If he is expecting the daughter to pay based on her agreement by signing the contracts then your Mother will not be asked to pay. I hope you get this resolved so your Mother with be able to grieve properly without this hanging over her head. ... View related article. |

| RE: Triple Aneurysm Stent |
Where is the aneurysm? If there is an abdominal aortic aneurysm you may be referring to the stent/graft which is placed in the aorta and right and left femoral arteries (it looks like an upside down Y). You can look on the Medtronic web site under abdominal aortic aneurysm for a description of this device.
How weird (for lack of a better word) to read this post as my husband just had surgery to place the stent/graft on 8/4/09 for an abdominal and a femoral artery aneurysm.
Your doctor should be able to answer your questions about the stent better than a web site or anyone else. Part of his responsibility it to make sure you understand all the risks as well as the benefits of any procedure. ... View related article. |

| RE: What Breed is My Dog? |
|
What a sweet face! She looks like my 7 year old Dixie. Dixie's parents were such mixtures; you wouldn't even think the other two pups from the litter had the same parents as they were very different in coloring, size, and length/type of fur. I hope she has as good a disposition as Dixie. Enjoy your new companions! ... View related article. |

| RE: Puppy Won't Stop Barking |
|
When we brought home our last dog at 6 weeks she cried at night when we put her in her kennel. I bought a sound machine with a heartbeat and placed it outside her kennel so she could not reach it. I found mine at Walmart but you might be able to find one at a Dollar General or Freds. I turned the volume up a bit to try to duplicate her mother's heartbeat. She adjusted rather quickly and she started sleeping (and so did we). After a few weeks I started lowering the volume a little each week to wean her off the sound and she continued sleeping peacefully. Hope this helps. Post a picture of your little fur ball as I always enjoy seeing all the pets. ... View related article. |

| RE: Bees Drilling Into Wooden Porch |
|
We've had this problem for years and have always called them wood bees. They arrive yearly to bore holes in our wood covered patio. We do not put out poison of any type due to our dogs; however, we do try to control the situation. This may sound a bit silly but we take badminton racquets (purchased at Dollar Tree or Dollar General) and use them to swat the bees to the ground (which stuns them) then kill them by hitting them or stepping on them. We consider it a little exercise in addition to taking care of our bee problem. You will have to do this daily to rid youself of the bees. Good luck. ... View related article. |

| RE: Including Sibling in Baby Shower |
|
I just encountered this situation with my great-niece who is getting a baby sister soon. I bought a few small gifts including a onsie with "Little Sister" on the front for her to give her mother at the shower as a surprise. I had her print her name on the card also. Then, so she wouldn't feel left out, I purchased a shirt for her with "I'm A Big Sister" on the front of the shirt (which was a surprise for her and her mother). With the help of a friend, I also gave her a book (found at the used book store) called "Big Sister, Little Sister" to hopefully help her prepare a little better for the new arrival. Hope this helps. Oh, my great-niece is also 5. ... View related article. |

| RE: Dog has Dry, Crusty Skin Patches |
|
My dog has had a similar problem with her skin getting better then worse. She was also checked and treated for a fungal infection (such as ringworm). If you vet hasn't checked for fungal causes you might want to ask for an evaluation for fungal causes. We still do not have answers and are taking our dog to a vet dermatologist for evaluation. Her problem is on her back and head. ... View related article. |
