| RE: Save Data on External Hard Drive |
|
I have lost 2 computers to viruses. Thankfully we learned from the first time to back up (on CDs and now onto an external hard drive). How awful you will feel when you can't recover your files (particularly for us- pictures!) is unexplainable. Do yourself a favor and back everything up. ... View related article. |

| RE: Donate VHS Movies to the Library |
|
I always donate old movies and books to the library. As somebody else posted, our library sells whatever they can't use. Also, when I had small children I would always take out videos from the library. It felt so good to give all my childrens VHS and DVDs to the library when they outgrew them. I know how much I benefited from being able to rent videos from the library. I was glad I could expland their collection with updated material. ... View related article. |

| RE: Support Your Daycare Provider |
I live outside of Philadelphia and spent a year working at a daycare while I transitioned my daughter from being without Mommy all day and Mommy used to not having her daughter there all the time (first child). This isn't my area of expertise but I was hired with NO experience to work in the infant room 30 hours a week. I have a MBA and was able to make a whopping $7 a hour without benefits. When I say taking care of 8-12 babies a day is hard work; is an understatement. We did have a ratio though of 1 adult per 4 babies. Every parent acted as though they were paying for private Nanny services. I understand that every child should be treated fairly but if you want that one-to-one attention go pay for it. Daycares are not what you think. When we are getting paid so little and trying so hard to take care of everybody we'd like a little respect. We aren't the "help". We are doing this because we do like children. And yes, the cleaning of all the toys and floors and taking out the trash just lends itself to more work for such a thankless job. Working there really skewed my vision of daycare and I worked very hard to keep my children out of daycare. ... View related article. |

| RE: Creative Cat Litter Box Tips |
|
Thansk for the idea of using a large tote. We've been having such a problem with our male cat spraying over the side. We did wise up and put a large tote lid underneath so I could just dump the liquid into our utility sink and do a quick wipe but this is becoming a daily thing. So I think I will try the large tote and put it near his current litter box and see if he starts using it. Great idea! ... View related article. |

| RE: Hair Ideas for Girls That Play Sports |

I played sports most of my whole life (still do) and never once thought I needed short hair to play. I love the ability to have longer hair and just throw in a ponytail. Now my daughter does the same thing. ... View related article. |

| RE: What Shots Does My Puppy Need? |
|
I agree, there is a 2nd set of shots at 12 weeks, we got a distemper shot then, then another round at 16 weeks, which was distemper plus the rabies shot. (I didn't get the kennel cough shot though I was asked if I wanted it). But my vet, STRONGLY advised me not to let the dog around other dogs or walked around the neighborhood or parks until 3-4 days after the third series of shots. I had NO idea but I am so glad I listened. The dogs do not have the antibodies to fight these foreign parasites that unvaccinated dogs might have. and you wouldn't know what feces you passed while out walking your dog was "bad". Anyway, good luck. ... View related article. |

| RE: Thank You for Your Thoughts and Prayers |
It is so wonderful to read somebody beat cancer. Every day you hear of somebody who is recently diagnosed, somebody fighting it, somebody losing their battle. It's so wonderful to hear the opposite.
God bless you and your family during the Holiday season!

| RE: Who is Responsible For Parents Debt When They Pass Away? |
|
I went through the same thing with my Mother in 2005. She was on Social Security and received food stamps. After her passing, I found out at the hospice that certain funeral homes have contracts with department of welfare, and my mother's cremation was paid in full. Any extras, obviously my sister and I paid for. Regarding any bills, I sent the companies a copy of the death cert. and this sufficed. Me and my sister were not liable for anything. ...
