New granite paint for quick Formica counter top makeovers! It's a new mineral paint that turns old Formica countertops into the look of Italian granite in a weekend.

It comes in a complete Kit that includes everything needed to turn all the countertops in a standard size kitchen into the look of 'Sicilian Sand or 'Bombay Black granite for $49 -

And the look is amazing! -as you can see for yourself in the attached "Before and After" images on www.GIANIgranite.com ... View related article.

I cleaned them with TSP then lightly sanded each one, this helped to remove any dirt, grease and grime.!
Primer it with Zinnzer primer.

RE: Refinishing Laminate Cabinets
I used a Zinzer Primer over the laminate, I did first lightly sand the cabinets to get any grease and dirt off, then used the Zinser Primer, I had the primer tinted, though came out a darkish pink color, but still this was easier to cover than white. After that dried we followed with 3 coats of the choice of our color, so far so good, and is working out well

RE: Refinishing Laminate Cabinets
thanks for the comments and suggestions, I cant really afford the replace the doors at this time, the budget is really going elsewhere so painting seems like the thing to do, its just a a choice of colour. Im giving some thought to the black suggested by deeli, or a deep rich burgundy perhaps. Ugh . The cabinets are all Laminate, even the beveled edges that look like wood. Now of it is real wood. Ugh again. I thought about putting a flat wood trim around the edges to create a shaker style, Im just worried what the sides would look like. ... View related article.
