| RE: Cleaning a Computer Monitor |
I notice that one reply said they use Windex and another said they use ammonia mixed with alcohol to clean their computers. I heard that Ammonia is in Windex and that it is no good for mirror cleaning because the ammonia fumes take the "silver" off the back of the mirror. So maybe it might hurt computer components. I was once told by a tech to use 91% denatured alcohol to clean electrical connections because it dries faster than the 70% stuff. ... View related article. |

| RE: Chili is Too Spicy |
You could get a bunch of hot dogs and serve it as the chili for chili dogs! Or serve it with lots of cheese and sour cream as the essential part of a burrito-often called tacos. You just put some chili down the center of a flour tortilla then sprinkle cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guacamole on it and fold it up like a iittle bedroll with the foot part tucked up. With all that other stuff it shouldn't be too hot. You'll probably have enough chili left over to freeze for next time. Also you could cook more beans and/or meat and just keep adding ingredients til it tastes right. Chili is very adaptable. ... View related article. |

| RE: Using Home Grown Herbs |
Tracey, Using Miracle Grow is very effective in making plants grow. I would suggest that you use a natural fertilizer so that your herbs will have the nutritional value they are supposed to have. Miracle Grow only contains (N) Nitrogen, (P)Potassium and (K)phosphorous. I hear they now have an Organic mix. (Organic is becoming hip) Here is a website I just found a website with a discussion about Miracle Grow if you want to find out more: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/tomato/msg04163043711.html Here's one quote from that site that might help you grow healthful herbs: "Espoma GardenTone is a very good all around fertilizer it is premixed and mostly organic. It has a lot more minerals and nutrients in it than your typical NPK fertilizer. It doesn't shock your plants." ... View related article. |

| RE: Auto Emergency Kit |
For Cold weather emergencies always keep a warm blanket and a candle or two with matches in a waterproof container. If you have to stop in cold weather to rest or if you get stuck in an icy rut you'll be able to turn off the motor-so you won't use up all your gas nor get carbon monoxide poisoning. Then you can get under your blanket(s) and light the candle in its holder. A single candle wiil be able to keep you warm in a car! I used this technique successfully once when there was a freezing rain that made it impossible to drive more than 20 mph during a very long night on a two lane highway until I was able to get to the thruway and finally reach home. ... | RE: Save Money, Buy Men's Deodorant and other stuff |
This issue of using stuff "made for men" by a woman. Or, for that matter, men using stuff "made for women". Is just commercial hype and we know it. And a way to get away with making inferior stuff for women. My discovery is that men's underpants-especially the bikini type-work just as well as women's. I have decided to do this because the women's panties which used to be pretty well made are becoming really junky. They unravel and the fabric is really cheesey. It might make good cheese cloth. Men's bikinis fit me and are made much better. I'm planning to get more before they decide to save money by making those really super cheaply. ... View related article. |

I love orange spray for on the spot deodorizing. Mine is called Citrus Mist. It just neutralizes the odor with a temporary orangeness. I don't think the tangerine works as well. ... View related article. |
