Profile For Suejaney -

I am a homemaker have been married 42 years to Eddy sr who is on early social security but works part time as a welder. Our children are Robin 40,Eddy jr 29,Billy 26. We lost our eldest son Jim when he was only 17 in 1987. He is loved and missed everyday.I am mostly in the house as i suffer from Rhumatoid arthritis and asthma but try and keep busy.We use to have a small farm but now just have the garden. I do miss my chickens.

We have a large garden, I can veggies and fruits and make jellies, jams, relishes, ketcup, sauces, etc for the whole year(provided the lord's willing and the garden grows well).Recently, Eddy sr set up an outdoor canning area for me complete with running water and gas stove top and counter space. It is wonderful and keeps the house from getting to heated up.As my meds are high and we are on a fixed income I do all that I can to stretch our monies. I also make my own laundry detergent.

i do all sorts of crafts including making vintage looking dolls, stuffed animals, aprons, etc. I do simple quilts, and make work shirts for my husband.I collect vintage patterns also cookbooks especially the soft cover type from the 40's,50's,and 60's.

RE: Making Old Tissue Paper Look Like New
This is such a great idea. I have been doing this for years and I do get teased but it is great to save things from the land fill. I also iron the heavy brown wrapping paper the same way(but only one layer and cover with kitchen towel.

When my kids were little this gave them paper to draw on and cut into fun things. I also would use it for wrapping boxes. ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Ketchup Came Out Watery
Hi I have been making and canning my own ketchup for years. Regardless of whether you can it for later use or want to use it right away you have to use what the ingredients call for. Tomato paste is a thickener. Try adding some paste and cook it on low stirring until it thickens. Sauce is very different from paste. ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Hand Dishwashing Liquid
I did this and it saved money(you get a lot of dish dettergent:the soap cost 49cents, and the cupfulls of the washing and baking sodas were pennies.I got 7 bottles of dish detergent that cleans great.

I also made some with Zote an all round dish cleaning, laundry, etc.bar soap for 29 cents for a huge bar which is like 2 of the octogone soap, so it cost even less and does a great job. THank you for this recipe ... View related article.
