RE: Cigarette Smoke on Leather
Turn inside out and spray the fabric parts with Febreeze and allow to dry, then turn right side out. Using a sponge, dip in vinegar water, (about 1 pt vin to 6 pts water). Pour a little Murphy's oil soap in a small bowl if you have it. or a lanolin bar soap. Dip the end of the sponge in the Murphy's or rub on bar and apply lighty to the leather. The soaps act as a lubricant and the vinegar helps cut the odor. Hang in a breezy place out of the sun. ... View related article.

RE: Spring Cleaning Redecoration
I have a couple of toss pillows on the couch which I slipcover with warm reds for winter and lighter colors in Spring. It gives the room a different look for just a few dollars and the covers take up little room when stored. ... View related article.

RE: How Do You Clean Suede Purses?
If you get a grease spot try beaten egg white. For grubby I've had some success with rubbing cornstarch in with my hand, leaving it sit overnight and vacuum excess, then use a wire suede brush. Even a small sponge that has dried rock hard works like a brush and won't damage it. ... View related article.

RE: Eliminating Pet Odor
Fabreeze works great. It even got rid of skunk odor when one sprayed just outside an open window. It took three spplications but it did the job. Set the pan outside just before the people come and maybe set a dish of warm vanilla where it was to help absorb the odor. ... View related article.

RE: Organizing Childrens Clothing
Everyone really wears about 4 favorite tops or shirts. Same with pants so with 4 days worth plus a couple of Sunday best type clothes they have plenty. It's also frustrating to wash and fold everything neatly only to stuff it into an overfull drawer. Everything else should go to a garage sale or goodwill. Let the kids organize what they can keep and what goes. ... View related article.

RE: Product Review: Kitchen Gourmet Air Popper
I found that by buying a better brand I got nicer popcorn and far fewer kernals. I can place a tea towel over the chute on mine and drape it over the bowl. No airborn popcorn. I've also found that by using an ice cream pail for 1/4c of kernals works. ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning and Organizing My House
Quit being an enabler. If he won't do it, why do you? I went on strike a few times and held my ground. Dishes piled up, carpets needed vacuuming, laundry needed washing. I was tired of them working against me. On several occasions it took 3 days for them to realize I wasn't caving in. I went out for supper and when I returned home the house was clean, dishes done and the washing was well on it's way to being finished. ... View related article.

RE: Dog Will Only Eat Liver
So your letting this dog dictate to you! He will quickly become deficient in important vitamins and minerals if fed a liver only diet. I'd set down his proper dog ration and don't worry if he doesn't eat it. He figures you'll cave in and give him what he wants so of course he won't touch it. Let him go a few days if necessary. He won't starve. Just make sure he has plenty of fresh water. ... View related article.
