Interesting, I have heard of those types of skin mites. So happy for you that you have found the cause and a solution. Even though the solution is not easy, your problem can be solved.
My problem insects flies and lives on skin, fabrics, and paper. As far as I know, mites do not fly at all. I am still no closer to finding out what mine are and how to get rid of them. Bless you and good luck. Thanks for all your reports. Perhaps they will help others.
Thanks fgleich for the resources. I bought my ozone generators from Ozotech in Yreka CA but I did not do research on this company or any others.
Don't forget that you have to ozone your car too. Some web sites say that ozone affects rubber and some types of clear plastic both in home and car. I did not have any problems except with a rubber band.
Not sure how well the ozone penetrates fabrics. I have not been able to afford to leave the house for several days so I do not know. Of course open cabinets etc. to allow as much penetration as possible.
I have thrown away most of my clothes and blankets. You may have to do so too. Shoes -- like tennis shoes are also a problem. Good luck to all. ... View related article.
Try using an ozone generator. Not an ionizer, a generator puts out toxic O3 that kills smaller insects. Use the machine on high. Note that I have heard that ozone degrades some plastics and rubber but I have not experienced this happening myself. Have used the generator for 14 hours straight in the car with no adverse effects.
You and pets will have to leave the house/car for hours when this machine is in use.
You will have to get rid of the source of these pests but in the meantime, the ozone kills as well as or better than any poisons. Ozone dissipates in a short while from the house after you turn off the generator.
Only if you have tried everything else, then spend the money to get an OZONE generator. They are spendy. You might be able to rent one but it must be strong enuf to work in a house [they make small ones for cars].
Ozone kills tiny insects. I tried it.
An ozone generator is NOT an ionizer. You must get an ozone generator strong enough to kill insects [kills mold too, removes all odors] and not to just "purify the air".
Ozone strong enough to kill insects is toxic to humans and pets. Not sure what it does to plants. It dissipates quickly afterward but you must leave the house while it is working. And air out the house before you enter.
I just got one and it is working but is taking forever because I do not have the money to stay at a hotel -- So I only run it for a several hours a day. I run it in the bathroom all night with the door closed. You house will be fresh and clean smelling afterward.
you must wash all your clothes if they are infested and do your car too if it is infested. It turns clear plastic white so clear plastic must be masked. Sorry that is all the info I have as it is new to me as well. Good luck. ... View related article.
