| RE: Alternative Transportation Ideas |

I work for a motorcycle dealership that sells scooters, which are a HOT commodity with gas prices rising. My advice if you are considering a scooter is to visit a motorcycle dealership and talk to the salespeople. A lot of places (Like Pep Boys) are starting to sell scooters now because of the demand. But, places like that do not service what they sell and it is usually difficult to find a place that will work on them for you. A motorcycle dealership can help you decide what size scooter will suit your needs based on where you would be riding - in town, back roads, highways, etc. They can teach you how to ride them, or get you to a safety class to learn how and help you learn how to maintain it or service it at the dealer. Scooters are fun to drive and most get in excess of 50mpg! Good luck in your search! ... View related article. |

| RE: Ideas For Unique Wedding Favors |
|
I don't know if you would necessarily consider this a favor, but it went over great at our wedding. We put disposable cameras on each table and asked our guests to take snapshots of each other and things happening at the reception that our photographer might not get. Our guests just loved it and we got some really funny, special and memorable pictures. We had doubles made and I sent a picture of the guest along with the thank you card for their wedding gift. That took a lot of extra time, but it was something different. ... View related article. |

| RE: Getting Over A Break Up |
|
I can totally relate. Here's some things that worked for me: I got rid of anything that reminded me of him, like cards, gifts, photos, etc. I even burnt some clothes! It felt like a release! If you don't want to do this, pack it and put it somewhere you won't see it. Also, every time I thought of anything about the relationship in any way, I would visualize a STOP sign and even shout the word outloud. It's a common tool used to change your thinking pattern and allows you to focus on something - anything else. I'd then do anything - even goofy stuff like start singing a stupid song. Whatever it took to take my mind off of that and onto something WORTH my time! ... View related article. |

| RE: Do I Need A New Type of DVD Player? |
|
I think I might know what you're talking about. I've had problems playing certain DVDs in my older DVD/VCR combo player that are produced by certain companies - such as "Fine Line Media" for example. I have a Netflix membership & when I called their customer service about this, I was told that some movie companies are making their DVDs unplayable because they don't want you to be able to make copies of them in DVD recorders. This only happens on DVDs from these companies on certain DVD players. It's not about BLU RAY. Rather than buy a newer DVD player, I watch these movies on my laptop. It's not the greatest way, but it's cheaper. ... View related article. |

| RE: Gift Ideas For Father's 97th Birthday |
|
Have you ever had a "family tree" made? My mother found a jeweler that made one that was an engraved tree, my grandparent's names, birthdates and birthstones at the bottom, then their children (my mom & her 2 brothers) were the branches. Each person's name and birthdate were engraved on it as well as their birthstone. As marriages & births took place, more names were added. My grandparents loved watching the "tree grow" and it also gave everyone a reference for birthdays. And it is so important to be able to trace where you came from. ... View related article. |

| RE: Paying Back Insurance Benefits When Getting SSDI |
Ron, I'm not able to answer your question unfortunately. But I have gone through the process of applying for SSD and am currently receiving benefits. One of the most helpful sources of information I found was a website on MSN. The site is http://groups.msn.com/SocialSecurityDisabilityCoalition My suggestion would be to post this question there and the site's founder, Linda Fullerton will help you find the answer. ... | RE: Car Alarm Goes Off for No Apparent Reason |
|
Call the service dept. that sells this model and explain the problem - they may have a suggestion for you over the phone. I worked at a car dealership for a long time & sometimes we run into things like this that can be a common problem that take a simple fix. Or, take your vehicle to the dealer and take both key fobs along. Have the dealer replace the batteries in both fobs at the same time (I know you just replaced them) and synchronize them together. The dealer should be able to perform a diagnostic check of the computer module that actually operates the alarm itself depending on the year/make/model car you have. The dealer should check the setting on your dome light as well as if your doors and trunks are latching properly and if the door jamb switch is working. There may be a service bulletin that pertains to this problem - meaning this could be a common problem with this vehicle and the dealer will know right away what it will take to fix this problem and it might save you a lot of time/money/aggravation. ... | RE: Painting a Home Radiator |
|
The radiators in my old home had been painted by the previous owner as well. The living room radiator was a very dark blue. I consulted a salesperson in the paint dept. at Lowe's about this same issue who sold me oil-based paint. I cleaned and sanded the radiator and then painted it a very dark brown, only because it was such a hard color to cover up. It was very time consuming, but it looks 100% better than it was. I have never noticed any change in the heating performance. I would have preferred the "natural" look as well, but removing the radiators from the home and having them sand-blasted was just not a cost-effective option for me. ... View related article. |

| RE: Security Software Compatible with Windows Vista |

I have Windows Vista also and installed McAfee with no problems. You can sometimes get a good deal at FreeAfterRebate.info - just make sure you read ALL the fine print of the rebate. I didn't read all the requirements of the rebate program and paid a little more than I wanted to, which was entirely my fault, not an issue with the website. Otherwise, you might be able to find something there. ... View related article. |
