RE: Organizational Advice for a Packrat
Unfortunately, it is not just a matter of organizing your stuff, but going through it and getting rid of things you don't need. You can go through general stuff anytime, but I find that it's easiest when in the "mood." During these times, I can be a little more ruthless with things I'm willing to purge from my life. Whatever you do, do not allow yourself to become paralyzed from not knowing where to start. Just pick one drawer, one cupboard, one box, and keep working until done, then move to the next.

After you've gone through everything, it is so much easier to organize everything. I find motivation by seeing how much room I have found, clothes I have forgotten about, and stuff I need and now do not have to rebuy since I've found them. And remember, it's a process that will take time. I also like putting stuff aside for a yard sale. Nothing like making money to spur you on. During other times, I just donate the stuff to move it out and clear my house and my head at the same time. Good Luck. ... View related article.

RE: Recommendations for Wireless Driveway Alarm
My dad has one of these. He's hard of hearing and didn't know when someone pulled into the driveway, or even when they knocked at the door. He can hear the alarm when it goes off, and he now knows when visitors arrive. It's been a big help for him. ... View related article.

RE: Products Used to Treat Tinnitus
True tinnitis is caused by damage to the cochlea of the inner ear. Once damage has occurred, nothing will reverse it. There are things you can do to help mask the noise so it is less irritating, but it cannot be fixed. ... View related article.

RE: Disposing of Kitchen Scraps Other Than Composting
You don't need a garden to compost. You can make a compost container out of any container that will cost you relatively little and look tidy outside. Just throw scraps in. Once a year, empty the composted dirt out and use it around your yard, to fill flower pots, in window boxes, give to a friend/neighbor, etc. ... View related article.

RE: Flipper Teeth Kits
Unfortunately, a lot of dentists have quit making them; most now prefer to make bridges. Apparently, there have been quite a few cases where people have accidently swallowed the flipper, and needed majpr surgery due to problems. ... View related article.

RE: White Gold Ring Turned Yellow
I have my deceased mother-in-law's ring, my mom's ring, and a very expensive one I bought for myself that are all white gold. None have lost their top coat or have any yellow showing through. I also have a white gold bracelet that I never took off for over 2 1/2 years. It has yellow showing through. While the constant wear does cause some to turn, I believe that older jewelry and expensive jewelry are made to hold up better than a lot that is sold today. I know that jewelry is expensive, but like everything else, a lot of it seems to be made cheaper. If I were you, I'd be upset that the gold is wearing off so fast.

Wedding and engagement rings are worn constantly and should hold up better than yours have. Call another jeweler and ask why your rings are wearing so quickly. Do you take your rings off when using cleaning products, what do you use to clean them in, etc. Maybe he'll have some answers or suggestions for you. I'd also talk to the place you bought the ring. They may be willing to make some type of exchange or compensation. Good luck. I know how frustrating it is to spend good money and have things happen. ... View related article.

RE: Natural Treatments for Hyperactivity in Children
Wow! I'm really impressed with the info that others have posted. All new info points to diet being a huge factor. Make sure you cut out ALL preprocessed foods too. You should cook everything from scratch or eat as much as possible in a raw state.

Another big factor not to be overlooked is exercise. It is so important that children spend time outdoors in some physical activity daily. Not just 10 or 15 minutes, but at least 30-60 minutes at a time. Bike riding, playing sports, skating, swimming, street hockey, etc. ... View related article.

RE: Selling Used Wedding Decorations
Contact your local high school. They may be interested in the stuff for prom. They'd probably just offer one lump sum for all of it, or you could get a tax donation slip. ... View related article.

RE: Adding Leg Height to Vintage Chairs
What kind of chairs are they, and how much do you want to raise them up? I had some wooden kitchen chairs that were just a tad too low. We bought some of those plastic things that look like big thumb tacks that you hammer into the legs to keep furniture from scratching the floor. It raised them about 1/4 inch, but that was enough to sit at the table comfortably. ... View related article.
