RE: Solutions for Dry Hands
I worked in a warehouse (very cold) and tried many products. The best thing that I found was a product used for very dry and very cracked feet. It comes in a stick form. The brand name is Luxuriant, cracked heel repair. A little goes a long way. I believe that I purchased this at Walmart. But maybe Rite Aid. Either way my hands are smooth and hydrated all year long now. ... View related article.

RE: Best Apples for Pie
Here in NY State I like to use empire apples. The Northern Spies are a great apple also. Even here with a long apple season they are only out for about 2 weeks. One tip is to not use juicier apples (sweeter). The sweeter the apple the wetter the pie. ... View related article.

RE: Disinfecting Hands Without Soap
If you watch the news they will tell you. You don't have to wash with antibacterial soaps. Just plain soap and water (usual brand) wash for 30 seconds. In our house I try NOT to use all that antibacterial stuff because it can be overdone. New strains of bacteria are formed because of the overuse of antibacterial soaps and cleaners. Hope this helps ... View related article.

RE: Covering Windows With Plastic to Reduce Heating Bills
I live in the Western NY area about an eighth of a mile from the lake. We have the wind to contend with also. My house was built around 1920 and we use the plastic kits also. They work great if used properly. We have saved about 200.00 a winter on the gas bill. It may not seem like much to some but when your gas bills are 350. - 400. a month every little bit helps. Good luck ... View related article.

RE: Sleeping Problems Caused By Menopause
Oh, how I feel your pain. To make matters worse when you are sleep deprived, then you might experience memory losses. I was beginning to think it was first stages of Alzheimers. I was frightened. I spoke to my doctor and she explained it's all part of this process. I do agree that the Celestial Seasonings teas help. I also drink black cohosh tea. It helps but the taste is not so good. Good luck to you. Welcome to the sisterhood. ... View related article.
