RE: Use Vinegar Instead of Dryer Sheets
I use the vinegar to take the buildup of detergent and fabric softners off of clothes. I put a drop of lavender scented oil on a washcloth to throw in the dryer. ... View related article.

RE: Sleeping Problems Caused By Menopause
I take Calcium Magnesium Citrate with Vitamin D. The dose requires me to take 6 tablets/capsules. However, it does wonders for helping me sleep. Calcium helps soothe the nerve transactions and thus allowing you to rest. I also limit my caffeine to morning only. I take my calcium before 9 pm and if I feel extremely agitated, I do some stretching and breathing before bed. ... View related article.

RE: Covering Up Skin Blemishes Under Arms
I concur with the zinc remedy. It will help a lot. Use a moisturizer with retinol A or something that will help take off the layers of skin slowly. After a few months, your skin will look better, not perfect though. The darkening of underarms can mean a low thyroid. You should have the dr. test it. Skin tags can be removed fairly painlessly, however, I would take the zinc and clear up the cysts first to avoid spreading an infection. ... View related article.

RE: Recycle Waste Water in Your Garden
Put a bucket under the faucet when waiting for shower water to warm up. This is fresh water that would be wasted. Now you can use it anywhere. ... View related article.

RE: Don't Procrastinate, Get That Cleaning Done!
I have a domestic goddess come once a month. She can help me with the big chores and deep cleaning with an understanding of the goal. The weekly chores are divided up and must be done by Friday. Decluttering a home makes this a much easier job. We read mags, newspapers, mail immediately and then transfer any information to the calendar and then recycle! Voila! We are ready for a weekend of projects, shopping or parties with a clean house. ... View related article.

RE: Take Your Own Creative Photos
Morning and evening light are much nicer and a slightly overcast day is perfect. We've paid for lots of professional pictures and just watching a professional gives you lots of tips. Tilting heads, watching for bunched up clothing and when leaning on a hand, don't lean too hard, it smushes the face. ... View related article.

RE: Caring for an Aging Parent
You are a tremendous person for taking on this difficult and rewarding task. My grandmothers still live alone, but my mother takes them to appointments. She stresses organization and a constant schedule as being very helpful in maintaining their healthcare and homes. Since we all live in the same town, she schedules their checkups together. Having social activities like Bible study, church activities, coffee at the local diner and sports activities at the school give us plenty for free entertainment. ... View related article.

RE: Saving Money on Movie Rentals
We have a girls/guys night out. We have a potluck together and then send the guys to another house to watch their movies and the girls watch what they want at my house. We have a great time and no one has to watch a slasher or chick flick that doesn't want to do it. ... View related article.

RE: Bagging Your Own Groceries
I don't mind bagging my own, but I usually have to resort the bags when I get to the car if someone else helps. Otherwise, I can just put the things that need to go in the cooler straight from the shopping cart. When I go to shop, I put my bags on the bottom of cart, so they aren't buried in the cart when I am checking out. ... View related article.

RE: Poll: Do you shop at large warehouse stores?
We only have three people in our immediate family, but we shop with extended family and share things. With three people taking daily lunches, we can go through the singles packaged items and bulk items for lunches quickly. We always compare price per oz/lb to determine the best buy. We don't buy a lot of convenience foods, so the majority of our purchases are in the vegetable/fruit section. They also have lots of things my husband uses around the farm. ... View related article.
