RE: Aquarium Supplies
I clean out my tank once a month or so by draining water from the bottom and inputting new water on top. I use the old water that I sucked up to water my plants. I use a gravel cleaner and drain it into a 5 gallon bucket and use that to water the plants. Boy! do they love that water!! ... View related article.

RE: Crafts Using Cloth Napkins
Sounds like a great start to a quilt to me! People can use regular old quilts just the same as great new ones. I would make a quilt out of them and not worry if it gets on the floor, etc. as they can be washed easily. I am attempting to find/buy pretty handkerchiefs, crocheted edges, or tatted edges to be mounted on plain white squares and then made into a quilt. Just a thought. ... View related article.

RE: Cigarette Smoke Stains on Curtains
Try a concoction of baking soda and ammonia in your wash. Once had a house fire and was told by the firemen to use this to clean the clothing and upholstery in the house. I also smoke and my white curtains get all smoked up, so tried this concoction and it really works. Just add it to your detergent, let it soak a bit, then wash; Problem resolved. ... RE: Removing Bird Droppings from Your Car
I did not know that bird droppings could be so corrosive, but, took my car in to get a new bumper after a slight accident, and asked them to touch up some spots from car doors dinging me. They came back and told me about a spot of bird do, where the bird must have died from a stomach ache, as that stuff had eaten through my paint and was down to bare metal. What kind of bird could do that by taking a casual #2?? I was amazed, glad it did not land on my head!! ... View related article.

RE: Super Glue on a Stainless Steel Sink
Superglue will come off with nail polish remover. The acetone kind. I would suggest this for your stainless steel sink, after all, it is stainless. Not sure about the washcloth unless you just keep washing it. Wash it, let it dry on its own and next wash, put it back in. This should help to remove the superglue. ... View related article.

RE: Giving a Cat a Bath
In a cat magazine, once, I saw a bath for a cat. It was like a large shoebox, with a neck hole cut out of one end. You would put the cat in with her head sticking out the neckhole, then there was another piece you would put on the box to hold the cats head, while bathing the whole rear of the cat in the box. Looked like a great idea, only at the time I could not afford to buy it. I have often wondered how to make something like that. My cats go in and out and can get fleas readily. Then I have to bath them which they hate. See if your dad or mom could rig something like that for you to bath your cat. ... View related article.

RE: Fake Paypal Emails
Best thing to do if you get one of these letters is to check the heading of the note. In Comcast, there is a section where you can check heading. Usually in the first line you can see where the email came from, and it will not be from eBay or PayPal. Then forward the note back to eBay or PayPal. Fraud@Paypal.com is one address. Never answer these, go to the original site and if there is a message for you about your account, you will find it there. I have logged into the phishing sites and typed in: Do you understand (I can't say that here)? and send it back. I know I am bad, but I hate to let someone think I am stupid, just rude ... RE: Cleaning a Computer Monitor
I have a friend that owns a computer repair shop. He uses denatured alcohol for cleaning the entire computer. It takes off dust and grease on the plastic encasing the computer and monitor and cleans the screen, beautifully. Give it a try.

RE: Frost Free Freezer Has Frost In It
It could be that the frost free workings of the fridge is no longer working. I would suggest you empty the freezer and defrost it in the old fashioned way. After the frost is gone, check the sides and back of the freezer compartment and see where it is still cold. It could be the coils in the back of the freezer are still iced up. I have taken a hair dryer to mine and thawed it out. It worked. This is only a suggestion. I know we need a new one, but, it is not possible at this point in time, so it is thaw, thaw, thaw, just like the old days for me!! ... View related article.

RE: Iced Tea - Tips and Recipes
When I make iced tea, this is my recipe: I usually put on a quart of water to boil and put my sugar in then. I use 1/2 cup (I have found that Splenda is fantastic used this way) of sugar. I then boil the water for 2 or three minutes to make a simple syrup. The sugar seems to get sweeter this way so you don't use a bunch of sugar. Drop in 8 tea bags and let it steep for 10 minutes or so. Then I put the mix into a pitcher, fill it with water, and pop it into the fridge. I don't like and cannot use lemon so have learned to drink the tea straight and it is so good. Just has to be refrigerated. ... View related article.
