I posted about this in the past and below is a copy... I personally prefer a "vapor" cleaner because for tough jobs like grout it will do a better job.
RE: Reviews of Hardwood Floor Steam Cleaners
Keep in mind, there are two classes of "steam" floor cleaners, steam cleaners and vapor cleaners. Steam cleaners heat up to about 220 degrees and leave the surface kinda wet. Vapor cleaners heat up to over 300 degrees and leave less moisture on the cleaned surface. Also the vapor cleaner cleans faster because of the increased heat. So if you can afford a vapor cleaner, they are vastly superior. The higher heat will not hurt your wood floors as you keep moving the floor attachment as it does clean quickly, especially on hard surface floors.
You also need to decide if you want a "stick" model that is only good for cleaning floors, or the canister model that is good for floors, counters and just about anything else. The canister model is the way to go as you will be cleaning everything with it and without using any chemicals, only tap water.
Whether you opt for a steam or vapor cleaner, the material of the boiler tank is so important. The choice is aluminum or stainless steel... The aluminum will eventually pit and leak, the stainless should last for many years if not forever. So, getting one with a stainless steel boiler tank is almost a no-brainer.
Here is a link that compares the different "vapor" cleaners, so they can clean virtually all surfaces, including the family car...
The model I bought is Reliable T630 (3rd from the top left at the above link). The one attachment it has that most others don't have is a carpet attachment and thus allows for cleaning carpets. This attachment was the determining factor in my decision to buy this machine.
Here is a link at eBay where it is sold $100 less then the posted retail price and another with 0 bids and a starting bid of $265. Both have FREE shipping!
This machine does an excellent job of cleaning, it works just as the manufacturers says and I have not had any problems with it, having owned it for about 18 months.
When I first bought this machine my wife wouldn't use it, thought it was just an expensive toy... We have brick floors in our kitchen, breakfast and family rooms, a bear to clean... My wife would constantly have to scrub the floor with a very stiff brush, then mop, this was a lot of work... One day I took out the vapor machine, vaporized the floor, moped up afterwards and the floor was the cleanest it has ever been! PLUS, it kills all pathogens, you really could eat off the floor after the vapor machine cleans it... She uses this machine for everything now, not a toy any more... :-)
AND there is a big advantage of buying a canister machine (such as the T630) as you really can clean anything with it, floors, counters, walls, toilets, etc... With a stick model, it is mostly a floor cleaner... You can also Google to see if you can find a better price, but I found the sellers on eBay had the best prices..
I would suggest you to try MMS on your puppy. It kills pathogens in humans and pets such as bacteria, virus and fungus. It is highly effective, but not FDA approved. The inventor of MMS has cured over 75,000 persons with malaria in Africa and he says it does so in just 3 hours. I personally use it and know of many with chronic illness using it and give it to my 7 cats and 2 dogs weekly. Never a problem with it.
....My little brother's dog, a miniature Doberman, came down with Parvo. The doctor gave her a less than 20% chance to live. My brother gave her the MMS, and she got over the Parvo. It's a beloved pet. They all cried tears of joy. The vet said that the little dogs have an even harder time getting over Parvo than the big dogs. God bless. You can buy MMS and the activator on eBay. If you do buy MMS for you puppy, contact me and I will tell you how to use it.
You need 2 things to use MMS, MMS itself and an acidifier, either citric acid or fresh squeezed lemon juice. You can buy ready made citric acid from the above sellers... For dogs and humans, the normal dose is 3 drops of MMS for each 25 lbs of body weight. For more serious conditions, 2 - 3 times that amount can be used. However, only use the 3 drops per 25lbs each time you give it to your puppy. Example, if your dog is say 20 lbs, give 3 drops of MMS in the AM, if you are going to give 2 or more doses during the day, give only 3 drops for each dose and leave a couple of hours between dosing.
Here is how I prepare MMS and give to my pets. Place the number of drops (one pet at a time) in a glass, then add 5 drops of the acidifier (citric acid or lemon juice) for EACH drop of MMS. Swirl and let stand for 3 minutes (no less, no more), then add to the pet's food (canned food is best) and mix in. That is it. MMS is non selective in what it kills, bacteria, fungus and virus. When my pets get tape worms, MMS kills them. If my pet had any kind of disease, MMS would be my first and most likely only choice.
You also should clean floors with bleach water and wash all bedding, bowls, leashes, collars with bleach and hot water. I would also spray any area outside the puppy goes to do his/her business with bleach, do so on a nice sunny day, no rain. Wrap your shoes in plastic grocery bags when you do this and dispose of the bags before you reenter your home.
In early 2006 the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) asked eight American companies, including DuPont, maker of Teflon-brand nonstick cookware, to work towards the elimination of PFOA "which they labeled a likely carcinogen"by 2015. PFOA has been shown to cause cancer, low birth weight and a suppressed immune system in laboratory animals exposed to high doses of PFOA.
Studies have shown the chemical to be present at low levels in the bloodstream of 9 out of 10 Americans, and in the blood of most newborns. And although the effects of PFOA at lower doses in humans are disputed, there does seem to be a link between PFOA and raised levels of cholesterol. More seriously, some people have claimed that PFOA exposure caused birth defects in babies born to mothers working at a Teflon plant in the early 1980s.
Most folks have no idea what kind of tick is on them. Ticks carry horrible diseases and if removed improperly with things like alcohol, soap or any other liquid, grabbing with finger nails or any other way that can cause the tick to empty its guts into you and you will have whatever disease it carries.
Don't use petroleum jelly, a hot match, nail polish, or other products to remove a tick.
Never use any liquids including soap or a hot match the flame has been extinguished, as these can cause the tick to empty it's gut into the person.
One of the safest ways is the straw and knot method:
STRAW AND KNOT METHOD Use an ordinary drinking straw and place it at a 45 degree angle over the tick (the straw is simply being used as a guide to direct the knot). Next, take a length of thread and tie a loose knot at the top or midsection of the straw. Now, slide your knot down the straw to the site. Position the knot underneath the tick's belly, so that the knot will encircle the embedded part only. Slowly tighten the knot to close snugly around the jaws. Now, remove the straw and pull the thread in a steady upward motion. This will cause the tick to detach, without regurgitation.
Hydrogen Peroxide is an excellent choice... It kills bacteria on contact, yet is not toxic like bleach.
Don't buy the hydrogen peroxide at the drug store... Since this is a commercial establishment, you will need to purchase Food Grade 35%. This is a concentrate. If you buy one quart of 35%, once you mix it with distilled water, you will have 10 quarts!
Once meat, veggies and fruits are cooked with a heat above 110 degrees, all the benefits of the digestive enzymes in these items is killed by the heat.
I don't have a raw recipe to share with you. However you can get the benefits of raw meat by giving your dog a high grade kibble daily and adding 2 - 4 oz of any good raw meat you get from the grocery store. 2 oz for a small dog, 4 oz for a larger dog. The benefits of this is the digestive enzymes in the meat. Each day your dog will get thousands of these enzymes and they will build up in your dog over time.
High grade kibble should NOT have any grain in it. Grain is deadly for dogs and cats and it should contain a high amount of meat. Here are three good examples of good kibble brands:
By adding the small amounts of fresh uncooked meats to the above kinds of kibble, your dog gets the advantage of raw and a well balanced diet from the high grade kibble.
If you haven't been feeding your dog raw, it is best to introduce raw meat slowly into the diet. Using about a teaspoon daily to start and slowly ramp up to the amount you want to give. This can take a few weeks to a few months to get the dog acclimated to the raw meat.
I see in the archives I answered this in August, 2008 that I've been using pool water for years to water my potted plants and lawn..Well just to reiterate, I am still doing it with NO problems! When I shock the pool, I don't use the water for 48 hours. Works great and instead of just dumping an overfull pool, it goes to good use and conserves water! Jim in Jax ... View related article.
I was talking to some folks online about leg and feet problems that the Rebuilder machine has a reputation of helping... A woman's whose husband was severely disabled with restless leg syndrome for several years and could barely walk, she bought one (Model #300) for him to try. She told me in three days he was up and walking and in a week he was out working in the yard. Two weeks later he and his son when on a trip together. She said he was like a new man! I own the #2407, it is A/C and battery, the #300 is battery only.
Regular honey found on the grocery store shelves won't act as an antiseptic. It must be RAW, unheated and unfiltered honey. And even superior to just plain raw honey is Manuka honey. This honey has strong antiseptic properties. It is gathered in just a 3 square mile area of New Zealand and is all organic. It is expensive, but well worth the money. Placing Manuka honey on a fresh surgical scar, will heal it faster and the scar will be smaller.
Did you know if a bee eats processed cooked honey it will die. Yet it lives on raw honey. This lesson has taught me to only buy raw uncooked and unfiltered honey.
