RE: How do you trellis beans?
The easiest way is to take three or four wooden sticks or poles about 3-4" long and about 1" wide. Put the poles in a circle around 1 or 2 bean plants, gather them together at the top and tie a piece of sturdy string or plastic around them all. You will now have what looks like a mini teepee. The beans will grow and climb the trellis. Hope this helps. ... View related article.

RE: Ideas for a Beginning Sewer
A good site for beginners is www.about.com. They have many different categories, so just search for sewing, etc. You should be able to find instructions there. ... View related article.

RE: Saving Money on Gas
A controversial way to save money on gas is not to drive. I know this sounds hard, but it works. I make a list of everything I need to buy at the grocery store, hardware store, $1 store, and department store. Then, once or twice a month I gather all my lists and hit all the stores on one day. This saves A LOT OF GAS, time and stress. If I go to buy cigarettes, I buy a few packs at once so I don't waste gas just to go buy a pack. We all need to do individual things to save energy. If every car saved one gallon of gas a day, we would save millions of gallons of gas every day. ... View related article.

RE: Setting Up a Simple Budget
Setting up a budget that works for you can be difficult, but it is definitely worth doing. I use the envelope system for bills, and mark on my wall calendar and cell phone calender when bills are due. Try not to use checking accounts, as they charge fees upon fees.
The most important question I ask myself when I go shopping with any leftover money is this: "Do I really NEED it, or do I just WANT it." That thought has saved me lots of $$$$ over the years. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Duct Tape Wallet
That is a nice wallet. I recently made a similar duct tape wallet to hold my gift cards and other plastic cards. I cut a big piece of scrapbook paper long enough to fold into thirds, wide enough for cards. Than I trimmed all the edges with matching duct tape, folded up the bottom 2 folds, and sealed with more duct tape. Punch 2 holes in the flaps, and tie it closed with a piece of raffia. Works great, and is really sturdy. ... View related article.

RE: Unusual Ideas for Planters
I used coffee cans to plant flowers and vegetables in last year, and they worked great. Put drainage holes and rocks or broken crockery in the bottom. Also used old pots and roasters for primroses and such. This year I want to try to grow some lettuce in an old wagon so I can move it around easily. ... View related article.
