RE: Animal Crackers as a Cat Toy
Thriftmeg, our cat doesn't eat the animal crackers, just paws at them, and they tend to spin a little, and it's a great game.

Maryeileen, I took some aluminum foil and had done what you also mentioned. At first she wasn't interested, but she played with it one time.

smilingfaces88, that's a great playtoy idea. Sometimes our cat will chase the rings, how funny! Do you mean the ring or do you have some other seal?Never thought of twist-ties. She got into a sugarfilled straw from valentines day, and just loved the straw part, although when I saw the sugar was all over, out went the straw........

Thanks for your ideas! Kim ... View related article.

RE: Front Loading Washer Reviews
just a quick tidbit, and this is no offense intended on anyone. When looking at appliances, we were told that big box stores have brand names, but the appliances are made cheaper. The majority of people shopping there won't spend twice as much money on a machine, so the appliances are made to look like they'll last, but they won't. I shop there, but for appliances, I only go to an appliance store. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Wax Build Up on Tile Floors
We've always been told to clean tiles with a little vinegar in a gallon of water. I'm curious why there is wax on the tiles (please don't be offended by this). How many years of buildup is there? ... View related article.

RE: Front Loading Washer Reviews
I posted on here back in March. We ended up buying an LG frontloader, with the steam feature. It's great! It's much more expensive but in the 6 months we've had it, I can't complain at all. The buttons intimidated me at first, but the instruction manual is so easy to follow. I wash more than 10 loads a week. We don't have the pedestal, but I would like one in the future as I get older.

The place we bought it from sells many brands, and from what we needed, this seemed to be our best choice.

If you are worried about future costs of repair, get a warranty. We didn't, for my husband doesn't go for that, but for a few hundred dollars, we could have had a great 5year warranty, covering just about everything.

Have you gone to the library to look at Consumer
Reports? They have an index in the back of each issue where you can find the latest updates on the item.

Good luck with your choice! And remember, not everyone is going to love every item. Reviews are great, but as long as the washer has what you are looking for, you can make it work for you.(hopefully!)

RE: Making Things For Pigmy Goats to Play On
Thanks everyone! Great ideas! We are actually planning to pick up some large spools on saturday. The goats(from freecycle) are living with horses(outdoors 24/7) and it's quite fun to watch them all.

RE: Using Old Patterns for Artwork
You have just made my day! For years, my husband traveled all over the world so our 5 children were always given t-shirts from his destinations. I still have them, but wasn't sure how to display them. I thought I'd just pin them up on the walls in the kids' playroom but I really like your idea of framing them instead. A much more organized idea. I want the memory, just not the whole shirt. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now I know why I can't delete my thrifty fun newsletters without reading every one, no matter how behind I am. ... View related article.
