RE: Removing Mold From Painted Walls
I use a spray of straight bleach. And it needs to be on the ceiling for a few minutes. I have mildew, which is a nuisance, but not harmful. For heavier infestations, I use a kitchen scrubbing brush or a large nail brush. It does take off some of the texture, but that can't be helped. ... View related article.

RE: Work On Homework With Your Kids
Thank you for sharing this. When I taught grade 2's, I hoped that all parents would do this. Usually if a little kid has homework, it is an indication that he/she needs some tutoring. Also, if you work with your children when they are in the primary grades, you will keep abreast of what they are doing, and be able to help them with their studies in the middle years and high school. I do not know how many parents (ones who had graduated from high school) I had who told me that they couldn't possibly help their kid with grade 7 math!! It was too hard! If they had helped all along, chances are their child wouldn't have needed help, and if they still did, they parents would be able to help! ... View related article.

RE: Keeping Mice Out of Storage Bins in Barn
I wouldn't put mothballs in the bins. The smell of them is worse than mice damage. And they are poison to you and the mice. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of Cobwebs
On the other hand, the spiders are catching other insects, and helping you out that way. If all you are worried about is the unsightliness of the cobwebs, I would just go with the broom. ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning Soap Scum Off Slate Tiles
I find Magic Erasers good for soap scum, but if the tile is rough, it may really wear down these things.

Whatever you use, when it is clean, have your husband wipe down the shower with a towel or a squeegee after he showers. Then you won't get this build up. ... View related article.

RE: Biting Insect Indoors
Sounds like bedbugs to me. The are very difficult to eradicate. I have no personal experience with them, but friends have had them, and my mother says everyone had bedbugs in during her childhood.

I doubt that it is scabies. I have had them, and there are no visible bites. Just itchiness. And they are pretty easy to deal with in my experience. Go to a doctor. It may be a good idea to go to a doctor to have these bites examined. An experienced GP should have seen these sorts of things before. Then you will know what you are dealing with and how to get rid of them. ... View related article.

RE: Shop Thrift Stores for Top Sheets
As well, it is very easy to make a fitted sheet out of a flat sheet. I did it years ago with sheets that I got for my wedding that were both flat. I have forgotten the exact directions, but I remember it being a very worthwhile project. I am sure one could google for directions. ... View related article.
