RE: Pet Potty Stains on Carpet
There are two products that I know of that would work to get the stains out. The first is called Folex. I found it at Walmart but I have also seen it at Home Depot and Lowes. It is about $5 a bottle and works great on stains. The other thing you can use is Simple Green. I buy this by the gallon at Sams because I use it to clean everything! Stains on laundry, bathrooms, kitchen, even the interior of the car! Hope this helps! ... View related article.

RE: Crafts Using Men's Neckties
I was doing our local quilt shop hop yesterday and saw a quilt made with ties in the middle of the quilt blocks. It was very unique. They use the big part of the tie and did an overcast stitch so you could see the stitching. I thought it looked pretty neat! ... View related article.

RE: Hydrogen Peroxide For Ear Wax
I have never heard of using peroxide for ear wax removal, but my kids' doctor said to put a drop of cooking oil in the ear at night before you go to bed. Your body heats up the oil and makes the wax run right out. Just be sure to put a towel on your pillow! I have used this method on my kids and it really does work. ... View related article.

RE: Alternative to Unity Candles
My husband and I were married at a park in July about five years ago. We didn't use candles at all, instead we used sand. We each had a little vase of sand (his was brown and mine was purple). Instead of us lighting a candle together, we poured the sand simultaneously into a heart shaped container. It mixed in lines and looks really cool! This picture was taken with my cell phone so if you would like to get a better look just let me know and I will take a better picture and send to you! We bought all the stuff at Hobby Lobby for about $10! ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of a Brown Pigment Spot on Face
I don't know if this will work, but my dad gets the pre-cancer spots on his face and bald head and uses a homemade remedy he came across. You mix organic cayenne pepper (he gets his in gel pill form from an organic health food store and you use the strongest that you can find) and organic honey. Dump the contents of the cayenne pepper pill into a little bowl and add a little of the honey. Make a thick paste. Then place this on the spot and cover with a bandaid. Repeat this for a couple of days and it should be gone. I hope this works for you; I know it works for my dad. ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning a Crock Pot
I use a cleaner called Cameo. They make one for porcelain, for stainless steel and aluminum. You sprinkle some on the cooked on food and use a damp cloth to make it into a paste. Then you rub it on the spots and they should come off with a little bit of elbow grease. I buy mine at Walmart in the cleaning isle for about $1. I have heard you can make a paste with baking soda and clean just about anything. Although I have not tried this myself, it might just save you a trip to the store! ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Laundry Detergent Not Getting Clothes Clean
I have made my own laundry soap for almost a year. I make a liquid soap rather than the powder. My first batch I used a Zote bar and my clothes were clean and smelled nice. Then I switched to Fels-Naptha soap to make it and no matter what amount of soap I used my clothes were never clean and my husband complained that they smelled after working in them only a few hours. So I switched to Ivory soap and wasn't happy with it either. I then went back to using a Zote bar to make my detergent and my clothes look great and smell great. The only place I was able to find the Zote bars was at a local Latino foods grocery store. You can also adjust the amount of borax used according to how hard your water is. For my husband's stinky work clothes I also add 1/4 cup of Simple Green. It gets the greasy smell out of them! I hope this helps! ... View related article.
