| RE: Use Vinegar as a Weed Killer |
I never could get it to work for me. I used like a gallon of white vinegar on my weeds. They weren't terribly overgrown, but all it did was dry the leaves. The roots stayed strong. I pulled them all out and vinegared again, but it never phased any of the weeds in my garden. ... View related article. |

| RE: Wash Cloth for Telephone Space Around Toddlers |
My toddler is actually a touch OCD about cleaning, so it would not work on her. She has to help with the dishes, laundry, and cleans my living room for me. She's not even two and a half! So, in my situation, I ask her to bring me something or I ask if she will clean something for me. It is an alternative that keeps her quiet and I can keep my eyes on her with no problems! ... | RE: Rice Krispy Treat Easter Baskets |
I tried it for my nephew as I said I would. It probably would have been easier if I had ever made rice crispie treats on my own before. But, I didn't think to let the mixture cool a little before trying to mold it to the bowl. And, I made my handle too thick so it continued to distort the bowl part. I ended up hiding the marshmallow glue marks with some Peeps and then filling the bowl with more goodies for him. He will like it no matter what, I feel though. Better luck next time! ... | RE: Tips For Dealing With Stress |
I agree with the people who suggested yoga. I have a 2 year old daughter, a needy cat, a loving husband, and a stressful job with an incompetent co-worker. So, not only am I stressed, I have little to no time either. Set a time at the end of the day or even during where you are "off duty". No children or pets or husbands or work thoughts or anything stressful allowed during this time. Take this time to do some yoga and meditate. It makes you more aware of your breathing and you can learn how to control your breath to help you control your stress and blood pressure levels. And, when doing the yoga, focus only on the poses - not whether you are doing them right or not, but the fact that you are doing them at all. The simplicity of a good beginner yoga routine works wonders. I recommend Richard Hittleman's 28 Day Yoga Workout. It is great for beginners and helps you relax. ... View related article. |

| RE: Resume and Interview Tips for Job Hunters |
CS7: That's why I said to only make it two pages if you have enough experience to cover it. For instance, if you are a rocket scientist looking for a job in the space engineering program (my town is literally filled with them), then you can fill two pages easy with information on when you spoke at a keynote on space exploration, when you got published, etc. If it is an accounting job you are looking for, then no, you don't want two pages. You have to consider the type of job you are looking for. I neither assumed nor expected everyone on here to be looking for basic office work or to be specialized in any certain area of knowledge. While most employers do spend an average of 10 seconds glancing over a resume, the specialized employers do take longer to review the resumes due to the fact that they are looking for more specific qualities and experience. That is important to remember. ... View related article. |

| RE: Chap Stick Stains on Clothing |
I had the same problem a while back!! My best friend told me to use a mild color free and odor free soap, such as Ivory, and cold water. It takes a little work, but all the chapstick comes out! To boot, I didn't have to buy 7 new white shirts for my husband either! ... View related article. |

| RE: Susan: ThriftyFun Says Goodbye |

My thoughts are with the family at this tragic time. Ms. Susan left behind a wonderful idea, and after reading about her above, an obviously wonderful family. A person is never gone forever if their legacy lives on, and Ms. Susan left behind a very happy legacy. ... View related article. |

| RE: Remembering My Mother at Thanksgiving |
How about starting a rememberance tradition? Some families place a setting for the lost loved one in their honor. On top of that, while you go around the table giving thanks, why don't you give memories of your mother instead? Everyone should have at least one that is special to them and be thankful for the memories and the time you had with her. Also, if she had a favorite dish or desert, make it in honor of her. That might be a nice tribute. My condolences to you and your family. ... View related article. |
