RE: Sheer Coverage Mineral Makeup
I used Bare Essentuals by Bare Minerals for several years. My skin was horrible! I attributed it to stress, general condition of health, etc, but at 50, it was worse than it ever was when I was a teenager. My face stayed so red, itchy and broke out, I was miserable. Long story short, I discovered I am allergic to the bismuth ingredient in the make-up. There are a few mineral make-up brands that don't have this, Cover Girl Tru Blend, Physician's Formula are two. Easily available, fairly reasonable in price. Best of all for me, no more itching, red face! Also discovered A&D zinc oxide ointment works wonders on my complexion. A nightly ritual now, and my skin is better than it's been in 35 years! I love it when something works out! lol ... View related article.

RE: Mascara Remover and Face Wash
Baby oil works very well too. I wear contacts, and as long as I take them out first, have no problem. Seems to help with the little lines around my eyes too. ... View related article.

RE: Try A & D Ointment As A Night Cream For Aging Skin
I thought I was crazy. I just discovered this amazing trick. I had been using an expensive brand of mineral make-up, touted to be so good for your skin you can sleep in it. At 50, my skin was worse than it had ever been as a teenager. My face stayed red, irritated, and itchy, with constant breakouts of hard, sore knots especially in the t-zone. After some research online, I discovered I was not the only one who had this problem. Seems the bismuth in the make-up causes allergies for some people, apparently me.

Stopped using the make-up, started applying the zinc-oxide formula of A&D to help with the itching, and made the miraculous discovery of the secret for my sensitive skin! Within 3 days, remarkable improvement, and after several weeks, total recovery. I'll keep using it from now on! I was disappointed that I couldn't use the make-up because I loved the idea of the minerals, and the ease of application. After more research, I found a few brands of mineral make-up without the bismuth ingredient. My favorite is Physician's Formula, easy to find at regular stores (Walmart), reasonably priced especially compared to some brands found online. Hope this keeps someone else from going through the aggravation, and discomfort that I did. ... View related article.
