| RE: Pre-Treating Greasy Stains |
|
I can do about 80% of what I need to do around the house using Dawn. The eye doctor suggested I use diluted Dawn to clean my contact lenses weekly (of course, you need to rinse very well). My lenses stay cleaner that way than with the expensive cleansers. I also use diluted Dawn on carpet stains. Again, you need to rinse well, but I do better with it than carpet cleaners. I also routinely remove ink on my husband's shirts with Dawn. Reminds me of when my Granny (we were hillbillies) cleaned her false teeth with Handy Andy! ... View related article. |

| RE: Cleaning Mud Stains on Wool Coat |
Try saturating a place on the back (or some place that's not very noticeable) with lukewarm water. Make sure it's truly wet, as water sometimes tends to run off wool. Then squeeze the spot with white paper towels until the spot is gone. This worked perfectly on a wool jacket I have. The jacket dried with no water lines at all. Your coat may be tougher because you have more stains and it's off-white, but if it works on the first spot you can keep going. I used a kitchen funnel, which worked very well, to put water on the stains. Good luck! ... View related article. |

| RE: Inexpensive Wedding Napkin Rings |
Try crocheting them or having a friend do so. http://www.crochetmemories.com/patterns/napkinringmenu.php is one nice example. This pattern is $3, but there's probably a free one out there, too. I'm sure a creative crocheter could also come up with her own (possibly simpler & quicker to make) design. Best wishes! ... View related article. |

Super Grand Mart in Alexandria has great prices on produce. We go to one in Maryland. The best specials are on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
