RE: Switch To Dollar Stores For Shopping
Yep, dollar stores are indeed awesome places for a bargain, as are stores like Aldi's and Save-A-Lot. I hit these stores first for the basics for both personal care and grocery items, then I head over to the big grocery chain store for whatever is left over on my list that the cheaper stores don't carry. I save a BUNDLE that way!

Most of the food products at the cheaper stores are great-- comparable to the big chain brands. However, I bought a can of canned white chicken meat at the cheaper store and it was AWFUL! Lesson learned: try the item once before you stock up on it to be sure you like it. Sometimes you do get what you pay for, so buy with discretion.

A final piece of advice: don't go crazy! It's easy to go off the path of your shopping list, buying things you don't really need/want because "it's just a dollar." Those dollars add up! I know because I do this a lot. Y'know, go in to buy 3 items, come out with 6! LOL! Still and all, dollar stores can be a great blessing!! ... View related article.

RE: Craft Project: Pomander Ball
I'd like to try this, but since the orange is full of moisture, I'm afraid it will rot. When you wrap the orange, where do you place it to dry? I do not have a dehydrator. ... View related article.

RE: Repelling Neighborhood Cats
Thank you for those of you here who gave advice on repelling the cats, not just getting rid of the smell. I bought a long-range water gun for $2 and I can't wait to "shoot" them when they start yowling. Filthy things. Cute, but filthy. ... View related article.

RE: Clean Out Clutter
Besides Freecycle, what are some charties/organizations that will take your stuff, such as cellphones, clothing, appliances, furniture, etc. I know Habitat for Humanity will take gently used items in their stores and sell them. ... View related article.

RE: Tips for Freezing Leftovers
Those are great ideas, but what do I do with the small plastic containers I have? I guess I could put the food in them, then put them in one of those vaccuum bags or another plastic bag? ... View related article.
