| RE: Getting Rid of Rats |
Carol, Please do NOT waste your money on those riddex things that you plug into the wall. They don't work! I haven't had rats or mice in years. I use the same thing my mother always used. Take some coca-cola classic and pour in mayonnaise lids and put underneath your cabinet sink and around in the kitchen and bathroom. This works and there is a reason why it does so well. When you down a coke...what's the 1st thing you feel like doing? You burp. well, rats and mice don't have the capacity to burp or pass gas so after they drink the coke it creates gas in their stomachs, and their insides explode. I hope this helps. | RE: Relieving Itching for Dogs |
I use to didn't have the problem with itching. I now have *4* dogs that have it so bad it's driving them crazy and they jump and hop around and whine. 1 is scrappy (male, 1/2 jack russell terrier and 1/2 rat terrier). He never had that problem until 3 weeks ago..now he has been scratching so bad he is almost hairless and he skin is splotched with redness. I've also got 3 great pyrneese pups that are 4 weeks old. They didn't have the problem until 3 days ago. The mother had moved them from a shed to underneath the house. It is only now after I've spent a fortune on scrappy at the vets that I realize what is actually wrong with my dogs. Mites. Mites are like a chiggar. They are so small you can't hardly see them. They go under the skin and they itch you to death.
My poor dog got shots that he might not even needed. It did help though. It just came back. For mites you can spray the dog (or the affected area) with alcohol after you give them a bath. Spray them, let them dry and wait another few hours and spray them again. do this for a total of 3 or 4 times. It will kill out mites and chiggars You can also use 1 oz of lavender essential oil.
Take a big bottle of (generic) baby shampoo, pour some out in a cup and then add your lavender essential oil, put the lid on and shake the bottle. The shampoo will turn white cloudy looking (that's ok), then take the lid off the shampoo and pour the left over shampoo back in the bottle. It won't hold all of it, but pour it as full as you can get it. put the lid on and shake again. You can use this to give dogs a bath in. This will also kill fleas and ticks. The is an all natural remedy for dogs and will not hurt them. I'm not sure about cats. That's a special animal so check the websites before giving a cat a bath in lavender. I hope this helps. ... | RE: Paint Color to go with Bright Red Furniture |
Denise, I would go with a cream color for walls. That way you can mix and match the cream walls with the red furniture with blue throw pillows and waste baskets and accessories....If you have too much of a powerful color like red, it OVER POWERS the room and the rest of the stuff. Hope this helps. Beverly (Arkansas) ... View related article. |

| RE: Old Dog Peeing in House |
Ann, I have a 16 yr old 1/2 basset hound and 1/2?. We got her when she was only 5 weeks old. She has been doing the very same thing! When she goes to get up she will poo on the floor. When she has to pee she will just go anywhere. Our dog always went to the door and barked or whined for us to let her out and when she wanted in she would scratch the door. Even my 2 yr old grandson will let make her go out and when she scratches he will go let her in. I, like you, try to understand, but it is getting very hard for me. My carpet is RUINED and we are waiting for her to expire before we put new carpet in. On top of the bathroom thing, we just found out that she has heart worms. She coughs alot...it doesn't seem to bother or hurt her and when it does we will have to put her down(she is part of the family). Wish I had some advice for you. I am in the same boat as you so you are definately not alone...Beverly (ARKANSAS) ... View related article. |

| RE: We have a mouse! |

I would suggest using "coke cola classic" put in jar lids and set them under sinks and ontop of cabinets where they are likely to crawl. The reason? #1 it will NOT hurt children if they find it and drink it (I have small grand children). #2 rats and mice cannot burp OR pass gas.......so they EXPLODE....the end of your problem. Otherwise, you may have to get a cat. Hope this helps...I am mouse free... have been for years. ... View related article. |

| RE: Dog Knocking Over Water Bowl |
|
With a dog, some of their glands are in their feet (with humans its their nerve endings). When the dogs walks/steps in water they are trying to cool themselves off, and hence step...drink...step...drink. I'm surprised that you haven't caught the dog laying in the puddle of water after she spills it. Be patient, summer is almost over. Beverly (Havana,Arkansas) ... View related article. |

I know that other people have run into this very same situation. I would suggest that you contact diy.net. It stands for Do It Yourself! I've been watching it on tv for along time. It's a neato program! With dishnet it is on either 110 or 111. You can always go to their website and they have ways to contact their professionals...and they'll tell you what to do. Hope this helps.
